Circuit City tried to install a 571 remote starter in my 2007 Santa Fe . But each of the 7 times they tried to do so , after a day or two , the door locks started to not open . So they just took the system out and refunded my money .Anybody have any idea why this problem ocured and what could be done to solve the problem ?

They used two seperate units , neither one worked . They got some advice from the manufacturer but that didn't help . But the Manufacturer said the unit should work in the Santa Fe . No one seems to know what is wrong !

The door locks would gradually stop opening with the remote . Maybe not work once the first day , a couple times the next day , and they would usually reach a point where they would not open 95% of the time with the remotes . They would open using the key ,( and the interior open / lock boton worked OK . but then the horn would go off untill you relocked and reopened the locks with the key in order to turn off the factory security . Strange thing is that the remote worked fine for remote starting the car and locking the doors . It was just opening them thet it would develope this problem .

the problem on the vehicle have to do with the BODY CONTROL MODULE
after couple of hours it goes to sleep to save power in the vehicle sending a unlock pulse don't wake up the system.
what it is worse is that it confuses the system and it won't respond to the negative command anymore until that wire is remove and plug back, there was no need to replace the alarm system what needs to be done is to wake up the vehicle conputer by opening the door fist or sending a pulse to the door pin and the system will wake up ,also the factory keylles entry can do that,but we can not tell a customer to use two remotes ,
I will find the solution to this one of this days for now this is what we are doing
we use a 451m from viper it is a relay power lock this is wire to the drivers door lock motor ,this unlocks the door and wakes up the system when you open the door then you can press the remote again and it will open the rest of the doors

there is no problems to lock

Im wondering if they put in the module needed for newwer vehicles with PATS (Passive Anti Theft System). The module is needed along with a spare key for the micro chip inside in order for the remote start to work, and in some cases the doors to open and close. Since the doors opening and closing have nothing to do with pats, I think they may have gotten some wires crossed or mixed or not connected that need to be to complete the security protocol from the manufacturer.

Most likely this is caused by a ground problem or they may have to " tap" into the wires in a diff place. This also occurs when the car needs high current relays(which requires extra parts) to make the door locks work.
could also be the body control module for the car, is going to "sleep". when this occurs the car shuts down all its electronics after a certain time period to conserve energy. i've never seen this on cars other than ford though.

when the locks stopped working, did it stop working by remote only? or did the whole system fail? and did they ever start working afterwards?

Try posting on The12volt.com site---lots on info on alarms there.
Sounds like a bad relay or wrong wiring somehow...some door lock systems are pretty weird electrically with switching grounds and whatnot---I would try a regular alarm installer with some more experience than CC. Or go through a dealer.

The Aux should start it. It activates a relay that engages the starter and turns on the ignition. Perhaps the remote or relay is malfunctioning. Master tech 40 yrs.

Ok here it is, according to directechs.com the unlock wire is a Gray/black wire located in the driver kick panel or at the BCM. It also requires a double pluse. Also to unlock doors you need to use this wire and also you need to hook up Factory Alarm Disarm (FAD), which is a pink wire located in the driver kick panel or at the BCM. This wire is also needs a double pluse for it to work. The problem could have been FAD could have been only set up for one pluse.

Somebody put a wire in the wrong place or the system won't work on that particular vehicle. Or possibly a defective unit.
