number 1, 4000w is only the max it isn't the rms, you may need to look into upgrading your alternator and getting a bigger battery, if you want to do it right

enable me get this you have not have been given any alternator???? How do you force your automobile???if your automobile doens't change on through alternator how long do you think of the batteries will final with not something to recharge them. you would be waiting to apply the batteries for some hours at max. in case you connect the alt. back on the 2d battery wont do you any solid. it is going to reason a great drop in voltage and is ineffective it basically paintings while the motor vehicle is off. What you decide on is a extreme output alternator is the only capability source of your automobile. Do the great 3 improve.

so REALLY you have 2 subs *totaling* 3600 watts RMS. i dont know what kind of speakers you have, but it'd be a good idea to upgrade the alt definitely. and a couple batteries. i'm going to have 2 or 4 extra for mine. about 8800 extra cranking amps worth

4000 watts and no extra battery? What are these people thinking? You will most likely need more than one extra battery and you need to wire them using a dual-battery isolator rated at least to that of the alternator.
Forget the capacitor, that will get you nothing.

A cheap alternator puts out at least 15 amps. There is no danger of overload from a sound system. A battery can put out more than 100 amps. so don't worry about spare battries.

WOW, the completely useless answers people will give!
The only thing, and I do mean ONLY, another battery is good for is for when the car is off. It won't make anything louder, it'll just make your stereo play LONGER -as it has more power storage capacity.
Another battery will NOT help you in ANY way when the car is running. When the car is running, the alternator provides ALL the power.
The same goes for cRapacitors, they will NOT help you in ANY way.
Do the Big3 upgrade;

If your light dim after the Big3 upgrade, you'll need to upgrade to a HO (high-output) alternator.
Have Fun!

Daniel M is right for the most part,upgrading those things will help. But if you are going to upgrade those then you might want to look into getting a capacitor so that your system doesnt drain your charging system. Also if you are going to upgrade your battery then you might want to look into getting an OPTIMA YELLOW TOP these are usually installed in cars to power stereo systems. I hope this helped...
