Yes, it is illegal.
This is because the hearing is impaired and therefore can not hear what is going on around you (I will admit how the deaf are affected under that).
The fact is, when you are behind the wheel, you need to have full attention to what is going on around you, which is why it is also illegal to have your car stereo up too high!

dont think it's illegal since u can still use hands free. fare enuf u mite not b able to hear sirens etc, but the same problem arises when u play ur music rele loud thru the cars' cd player

no it is not against any laws at all, and to be honest it does rather call the use of mobiles while driving into question dont you think. just to confirm it is not illegal

i dont think its illegal just dangerous you need all your sense to drive hearing and sight to see danger approaching so you can avoid it.
