I have always had crappy radio reception in my Subraru Forester. If I drive just five miles from the city, I can't get most of the FM stations. In other cars I can keep a signal for my favorite radio station for up to two hours outside of the city, but not in my Forester. Is this a design flaw with the Subraru, has anyone else noticed this? Is it fixable? I took it the mechanic and he told me that it would be $100 just to find out what the problem is, but if it can't be fixed, I don't want to waste the money.

Take it to a good car stereo shop---they have more experience with reception problems....could be a bad antenna or cable problems or radio internal problem.
