im lookin to buy a set. how many watts do i need to push them? how many watts apiece are they? whats better L5's or L7's?

The L7 is a little better than the L5. I have an old L7, which is basically equal to an L5 now, and it got plenty loud for me off 350 watts. I'd say a 1000-1200 watt mono amp that is 1 one stable on a pair of dual 4 ohm L7s would be just right. Look at the Hifonics "Brutus" mono amps for good power and reliability at a good price.

they are like 1500w peak each for the L5s, the L7s are going to be a better sub but there isn't that much of a difference from L5 to L7.
