i am trying to change the original factory head unit to a after market one but i have ran into a problem. i have been told it cant be done. my head unit it tied into my climate control. so it cant be switched and i dont want to do a stand alone after market head unit in the glove box because its not functional. does anyone know where i can get a face plate and wiring harness to do the swap?

Dear Amanda:
I strongly suggest Crutchfield.com they do the "homework" for you. I entered your cars info on their website and they show you all the speakers that fit your doors and all the headunits that fit the dash. You're going to have to choose the Taurus' trim model. It's going to be the LX, the SE, the SEL or the SES. Here is the website:

I highly recommend Crutchfield. They have excellent customer service, they have a "no questions asked" return policy and they pay for the shipping when you do return something. Good Luck Amanda.

Stereo shops or Best Buy should have the faceplate and harness for it.
