Buying & Selling - July 2007

I have been turned down for a Bealls card. Only for a lack of credit history though.. No bad credit. I have $6000 as a down payment .for a car somewhere around 10k dollars. I want a loan either from a dealership or a bank.. Which would give better rate and what would be the best approach to buying a vehicle?

I am looking to get a newer car with options but it seems those with options have more miles...Do miles play that big a role in purchasing?

Since Hondas hold their value so well, it's only a few thousand more, with no miles (and no problems) to buy a brand new one. Plus my interest rate is better.

But I've always heard "Don't buy a brand new car"...and I'm not exactly sure why.

Are there any reasons whyI shouldn't?? THANKS!!

I signed the purchase order and made the deposit. I still haven't taken the car out of the parking lot. I signed the credit application, but will not hear if it was approved maybe later today. If the interest rate is not what I hope it is, can I still back out of the deal?

I bought a car a month ago from a used car dealership in which I paid for the car by check (full amount). He said he was going to wait to give me the title because he wanted to make sure the check cleared. Well its been just over a month now and he hasnt sent the title to me. My buddy at work told me that a dealer can get in big trouble for not making sure I get the title in the 30-day period. Is this true? What are the consequences the dealer can be held against for this? Would it allow me to return the car for my money back? I live in Kansas, not sure what the laws are here about it. Thanks.

Well I'm 15 and I'm having an issue with my parents on the type of car I should have.My mom wants me to take her 2004 Nissan Maximam.It's an execellent car but I think I should have a car of my own that doesn't have 40,000 miles on it. The cars that I wanted was:

I am planning on financing a car soon and have a couple of questions.

1) What is trade in value ? I thought it was a price to help deduct how much i would be paying monthly. Is it like, lets say if i wanted to trade in the same vehicle i bought at a later time , or does it mean its a seperate car im trading in to help reduce the price of the car im trying to buy? kind of confused on that

2) What is normally the sales tax % i would be looking at these days ?

205 000 kilometers on it, which is quite high. Loaded. Cassette. Cold Air Condition not coming out. Not been safety certificated or e-tested yet. Bought from big auction. Beautiful car. Though needs some rust cover ups, and the dirty ciggerete interior cleaned. "Looks" like its in excellent running condition. Looks like new tires, without hub caps, which is good i hate hub caps. And a spare tire in the back. But I dont know how to put them on anyways. First car I ever bought. Ok....... tell me if it was a good deal!!!!!!!! And tell me how many more kilometers do you think I can get out of it! Another same year malibu there had 283 kilometers on it. Do you think I'd be forced to put in more money than its worth to get things fixed in order to get the safety certification??? And I hate to say this but I never checked under the hood... because I don't know what any of that means. couldnt fit it in, read more....
