Buying & Selling - October 2006

Have you ever had any dealings with them you would like to share.Good experience or a nightmare.

For me I have had problems dealing with their Customer Service in Detroit over a warranty issue.They refused to except responsibility over a defective part and would not fix it.Later when my truck broke down all of a sudden they want to fix it after I threatened them with court action under the lemon law.

Have you ever had a similiar run in with GM you would like to share? Please do. Sorry about the long question!

I am wondering why all these american car companies offer 0% for 60 months, and finance companies for Honda does not offer the same? I know Honda and Acura Toyota are much better cars, but shouldn't we be able to get that financing even with a foreign car?

I am very unexpectedly getting a divorce and in order to afford to keep my house, I need to get rid of the two vehicles that are titled in my name (yes, his vehicle is in my name too because his credit is bad and they wouldn't loan to him). He went out and bought another vehicle, so it is pretty obvious he is going to stick me with the other one. Both are in loans and I was wondering if it would be better to try to sell them outright or if I should try and trade them both in, plus the cash to get them paid off in order to get something cheaper. Anyone who works in the car industry have some insight?

Its a 1965 with a 289. Its set up for drag racing and is in pretty good condition. i have racing wheels and street wheels for it. Its got five point seat belts. It needs brakes and some rear clip work...the previous owner backed it into a light pole. i just haven't had the time or money to fix it yet. just curious. thanx

I am finishing up high school and moving into my first apartment with my fiance and I am going to need a car to get to work and college and run errands... But I have to pay for all of it ( I don't have rich parents that will buy me a car for my 18th) and i have to get it soon after turning 18 and most dealers wont give financing to people with no credit so what is the best way to go about getting a used car that is at least a 2001 so i don't have problems with it breaking down on me all the time.... Any advice?

My son bought a used car on Monday the 23 and it was bought as is, but the car has not run properly since he bought it.It was bought from a used car dealership that we thought was reputable. He had to get it towed because it was over heating and would not run.He called the dealer but they just gave him attitude.Is there a return policy or law that allows someone to retun a vehicle that has given them problems and what are are rights other than the lemon law.He has had the car oct 23 .I need to know if we are protected by conumer satisfaction or anything to that knowledge?.And if we are where can I look for this information?Where can we go to get a free car history? And last but not least we want are money back are we intitled to it?He gave $2000.00Out of $4000.00 purchase price.

say i brought a car for 15000, if in a years time i have paid 4536 usd on the car, when i go to trade in the car to get something else what do i owe? If the car is 15000 and the dealer gives me 12000 trade in value, do i owe the 3000 and interest on my current loan, or do i just get the 3000 taged on to the new payment for the new loan?

Then we broke it off, his name is the primary holder on the lease..I'm a co-signer. I wrecked the car, it now has a few dents, some scratches, and a puncture in the gas tank. All damages would be thousands to repair. My ex took insurance off the car three days after it happened and now won't turn it in. The loan still has 16,000 on it...I'm thinking about just letting the car get repo-ed ...Any better suggestions??
