Does anyone know what the current GM discount is for retirees and their kids? I would like to buy a new minivan but want to know approximately how much it will be before I ask my Father-in-Law for the discount.

The family first plan allows a set selling price of 2 percent less than dealer invoice. On the dealers invoice acct #310 is dealer invoice and you will look for the GMS price in the center right of the invoice. The dealer will have you sign a form stating such. You also are eligible for any consumer rebates or APR deals and they often run extra rebates for family first customers. Try looking up the gm family first program and the gm website for all applicable rebates and programs...they specify them for employees very well. Some dealers may not accept the program unless they were the original invoiced dealer because they cant recoup the loss despite making 5% less $75. Also keep in mind that if you have a GM card you cant use any points toward this purchase. Good luck and pick wisely.
