Buying & Selling - October 2006

Trying to decide if I should purchase a 2005 Grand Cherokee Laredo with 17K miles on it for $18,900 or a 2002 Toyota Highlander with 31K miles on it for $18K. I need more cargo room than I have with my current 02 Jeep Liberty. All the reviews for these cars are outdated.

I am an employee of a very small used car dealership, and we also finance cars ourselves. One of our customers is in default of the loan (stopped paying) and we got a letter from the Missouri (we are in Iowa) DOT saying she registered the vehicle there. We have no address, no contact information, and unsure of our legal rights. Can we report the vehicle stolen? The title is in her name but we are listed as lienholder. She isnt even 1/3 way through her payments yet.

for a less expensive car & pay the difference? I am guessing they probably don't but here's the thing. I have a clear title '02 honda that kbb says trade in value is 10,800. We are so beyond strapped for $ it's not funny & I really only use it around town so I'm thinking of selling the honda & getting an "around town" type older car for around 3 or 4K. The thought of selling it myself makes me nervous, I wish I could just take it somewhere & trade it for a cheaper car & get the diff. Would they laugh in my face if I asked this? I'd rather get laughed at online than at a car dealers ;-)

Last week I paid a 1000 deposit for a car, I was suppose to wait a week. So the week passed and the dealer calls me that its going to be an additional 3 more weeks. I paid the deposite to get my car this weekend, not in a month. Can I get my deposit back so i can go somewhere else.

I have a friend selling his 1969 XR7. The car is in pieces, and will require a complete restoration. The body is solid, and reasonably straight. No front end collisions ever. Rear ended, and straightened at some point. 351 W, bored .060 over, balanced and blueprinted. No intake or carb. Headers look ok. Glass is fine.

Im 19 and I still havent got my own car yet. Im kinda embarrassed about it, but hell money dont grow on trees. But I have no idea what so ever where to start on getting a car.
