I just paid off my car and received my title in the mail with an attached letter stating what I wrote above. What does that exactly mean?

You take that little piece of paper to the DMV and ask for a new title that shows the lien has been removed. Bonus points of you have the title you got when you bought the car that shows a lien on it (take it into the DMZ too).

If you don't do this now then it will complicate your life when you get rid of the car since it will add 2 weeks to the sale while you wait for a new title.

Just what it says. You take the title and that letter to the DMV and apply for a clear title without the lienholder's name on it.
