Let us say money was not a problem, And you had to pick a company that manufactures jet airplanes.

What would be the model, size, price [if known] and manufacturer of your dream passenger jet?

Thanking everyone in advance for their time and attention in this matter.

If there are several great answers this will go to a vote, thanks Tim.

and I was wondering if there are any realistic "training" flight simulators that are open to the public in the US. It doesn't matter where if there is one.

I know pretty much everything there is to know about flying (Flaps, autopilot, how to do approaches, everything!) thanks to Flight Simulator.
Now I want to take real lessons.
Would my experience in simulators help me get a license faster?

i always like the glass cockpit of modern airplanes. but with the introduction of the 747-8, are we expecting alot of changes to the cockpit? will the PFD, ND, MCP, FMC etc still be the same? or will it change such that pilots will have to get familiarise with new avionics? i sure hope that there's not much change if not we'll need to train in new type of sims AGAIN!

Would love to hear from pilots, military or civilian, aircrew, airport workers etc. or just passengers. winning entry gets to laugh as loud as I will at all the other entries! The only funny episode I had was flying with my marines on a "starlifter" to washington (winter training in yakima) and they had us eat before we left, after 30 minutes they let us know we were going to fly "low" for training. In the turbulent air, one after another of my marines, well, ate again! I have never seen it so bad (my gunny refused to leave the head) and I never, ever laughed so hard in my life. Oh and in case you think I did not care about my men, I helped clean up the "mess" with them when we landed!

On a commercial jet, it lands, and you can feel it braking and slowing down. Are the jet engines providing the braking? Does that mean there is a point in time when the jet engines are stopped and then restarted in the opposite direction? I mean, do the turbines stop spinning and reverse directions at some point?

Is there a separate motor for the airplane when it is taxing on the runway?

this book opened up my eyes to how easy navigation actually is, most calculations can in fact be done using only a watch, pencil and a brain. GPS' have made pilots lazy, in the process we lost some great aviation skills. furthermore most pilots do not know how to do without a GPS for navigation.
