If your going after just a Private Pilots license it can take you as little as a few months to over a year depending on how often you fly, how often the weather permits you to fly, and how quickly you take to the information and tasks you need to learn.

There really is not a set time to get your private pilot rating, it all depends upon the dedication that you put into it. The FAA has set hours, etc... that you need in the aircraft and in ground instruction.
