I was just outside, and a pink plane flew over my house. I found it very odd, yet exciting, and am wondering what company it would be. I guess Playboy. It was the size of a commercial airliner, like a 747.

I have found several errors in my logbook from very early on in my training (some of the earliest entries) where the instructor omitted a line item or two and where I accidentally counted several flights as cross-country that were less than 50 NM. I know that it is legal to log most flights as x-country even if it's under 50 NM but since it can't be applied towards ratings, I don't want it in my book.

The errors do not affect my ratings as I would have still been perfectly legal even with these corrections noted but I hate having to white so many "Totals" lines on my logbook pages making it look rather sloppy and unprofessional. Is there an appropriate method of trying to correct these, and will it be accepted by the FAA or the airlines this way? What are your sources please! Thank you!

Say you have a flight of 1.0 hours in duration. Can you have 1.0 as PIC AND 0.5 of that as dual or do they have to add up to the total time?? Please tell me where the regs state this if you can.

Someone close to me is trying to get his foot in the door in the aviation industry as either an aeroplane or helicopter pilot...

French nationality, has mostly Australian & U.S licenses.

Can't fly in France as he doesn't have European licenses...

Commercial Pilot, Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating, ATPL (frozen)

Approx. 300 hours aeroplane

Approx. 110 hours helicopter (turbine endorsed)

Can't get sponsorship in Australia from a company for his first job.

Some have told him to try in Africa....

Detailed responses would be really helpful....

Any suggestions to start his career...?

I know that ramjets are limited to about mach 8 because when you go faster, the fuel will not burn up properly. However, that does not explain why a scramjet is limited to mach 25. Can't you just make the compressed air flow through the engine core faster with scramjets?

What is the norm should one have at lest a hour worth of fuel left or very little fuel left. I know this is a tricky queston due to many factorys in volved weather cruise performance aircraft performance aircraft landing weight flight aititude and so on.
Example flight EINN to CYQX say a cargo 4 engine jet aircraft.

what is the cost of the average 4 stroke ultralight airplane engine that gives out around 40-80hp. Also, what is their average weight, and what are the names of some good manufacturers? If my airplane was a one seater with a wingspan of around 5 meters on each side and was under 200 pounds (90.7kg) would 40-80hp be enough? if not how much would i need? thanks

Concordes only disaster that marked the beginning of the end in 2000 was investigated by BEA the french investigation organistion. British authorities had limited access to the investigation, nobody in the french airport was allowed to say anything. Also eye witness accounts from three firemen on the ground (the closest to the aircraft) reported flames from the plane near the start of the runway, hundreds of metres before the infamous 'strip of metal' that was supposed to cause the crash. Also the runway was quickly resurfaced, as it was in poor shape and believed, by some, to be the cause of the accident.

Well i've decided to make it a one seater and was wondering if you could make an ultralight aircraft with a 650cc dirtibke engine or a 1000cc sportbike engine with a gear reduction for under $5000. It would be a solid body with a wingspan less than 8 feet (hopefully). can this be done? I was thinking maybe aluminum or tin body, or a wooden one would be fine.

Whats the difference between the range and the endurence of an aircraft ? (1)Range is the amount of fuel required to fly to a destination and endurance is the time it will take to get there.(2)With a given amount of fuel ,range is the distance that the acft.can fly,and endurance is the amount of time that the acft. can remain in the air.

Is it feasible to make a small 2 seater aircraft from a small diesel engine? i just learned that prop speed is no higher than 3 thousand rpm, and i thought deisel would fit the bill perfectly. I originally wanted to make it out of a 1000cc sportbike engine but then i learned about the rpms. Any other engine ideas, and is this type of aircraft possible? i wouldn't go above a few hundred feet so i want it to be as small and light as possible.

When I see footage of tracer rounds going off from turrets in (I think) in bombers, the glow of the round looks all spikey when it flies away. Does it look this way from all angles, or just from the gunner's perspective? What causes this effect?
