The center of gravity is the theoretical point where the entire weight of the aircraft is considered to be concentrated.

CG is the point in an object at which all of the weight is considered to be concentrated. The CG may be expressed in inches from the datum.

I can see how students might choose 1 since they'd be thinking of the arm. Answer #2 is also wrong -- it's the center of lift and is located along the chord line of an airfoil.
