it's true that O'hare is the busiest, but that is for cargo, busiest in the world by flights, passengers, and traffic flow, is Hartsfield Jackson in Atlanta Georgia, Heathrow on the other hand is no longer the worlds busiest, as for Gatwick took over and then JFK , then O'hare, and finally Hartsfield Jackson, another note is that from 01-04 Chicago Midway was the busiest for cargo, mass, passengers, trafic flow, and airline occupancies.

Right now it is Hartsfield Jackson in Atlanta

In the southern hemisphere the busiest airport is YSBK - Bankstown with a plane taking off or landing every 45 seconds.
Kinda fun flying the circuit with that many planes about - Keeps the adrenalin pumping and the hands a sweating!

It's still LHR, at least for volume of pax passing through... I would suggest that a great portion of these are transit though and not terminating pax.

Not sure why we call them airports and not aeroports. In Catalan they're known as aeroports though!

Busiest is Heathrow, but only because any American who wants to get to anywhere in Europe has to stop there. Generally, London is where people conect their flights.

Other than that, some of the busiest are in Chicago, Atlanta, and Phoenix.

No one's said Sky Harbor (Phoenix's airport) yet, but it claims to be the largest airport in the world (based on size).
