A person had asked a similar ques. before. Anyways, the speed figures of both foghters r pretty close but the Su outperforms the MiG : Su-35 -- 2550 kmph; MiG-29 -- 2400 kmph.
In a combat, there would be a unanimous answer that the Su-35 would emerge the victor, provided both pilots r highly n equally trained. The MiG has only 6 underwing hardpoints for missiles, whereas the Su-35 has 10. Besides, the Su can carry n operate much more advanced armament like the AA-8 "Aphids" to the AA-10s n sidewinders, whereas the MiG operates on much inferior armament.

These are a generation apart, no point in comparing. The Su-35 will outperform the MiG-29 in all aspects.

How about matching a Su-35 with the new MiG-35?

Hey Andy, the AA-8 "Aphid" is a quite old missile. The MiG-29 can use the R-27, R-73 and R-77, just like the Su-35.

I don't have speed numbers for the 2, but in a gunfight, the Su-35 is much more maneuverable. All 1 or 2 of them. Remember that the Mig-29 is starting to be old, and the Su-32 and newer are a generation more advanced then the Mig-29

Depends a LOT on who is flying.

If you are talking equal pilots then sukhoi would dominate.
Way better avionics weapons system, and control ( thrust vectoring )

top speed is pretty close to the same, In a dogfight usually the guy who can fly the slowest wins anyway, ( lets them get behind the target )
the mig 29 is really more comparable to a SU-27

Speed wise, these aircraft are very close. So close, in fact, the cleaner one would probably be slightly faster. In combat, the winner would be the one with the better pilot.
