I have been to a few different mechanics and nobody can figure this out...
My brakes sqeak and grind a lot! I have replaced all brakes and turned all rotors a few times thinking I had gotten a bad set, yet they still continue to sqeak and grind. Lately I have also noticed that when I brake and the car comes to a stop, the car rocks back and forth more than usual. Any suggestions before I waste more time and money for nothing?
I have a 2000 Toyota Corolla if that makes any difference.

I have a GMC Sonoma and it is rear wheel drive. I am using bags of wheat to weigh it down but do not know how much I should be using in order to get the best traction. I also dod not want to stress the truck more than it needs to be. Thanks for any help.

Does anyone have any experience having a vehicle "soda-blasted", instead of sand blasted so that it can be restored? How well does soda blasting work, and how expensive is it?

I just got a Jeep today from a little garage. I haven't even registered it, or even driven it a quarter mile yet (got it towed to my house on a flat bed) and it won't start. I put in a stereo today after I started it once or twice, and when I went to start it, it began to turn over then just stopped. I figured the battery was dead so I tried to jump it with my brothers jeep (same size engines) and still nothing at all happened. The engine didn't even try to turn over. I put the keys in the ignition and turn it so it's on and no lights go on or anything.

What could be wrong with it? Could it be out of gas and have a dead battery? I noticed when I started it the first time when it was unloaded, it took a second to start and thought it might need some gas.

If not that then what are some possibilities of what's wrong with it?

First off (not exactly sure about this), I've heard that in some states in the US the minimum age for obtaining a driver's license is 15, and 14 for your permit. If this is true, (please ignore this question and simply correct me if it's not) then would it be possible to obtain your license there at age 15, even though you live in a state that requires an age of 16, and use that license to drive in other states that would normally require the age of 16? I.E. your home state.

95 dodge avenger 2.5L V6 A/T. Is there any way to test a wheel speed sensor without taking it to the dealer or repair shop? It's an electronic sensor, so I guess that it's gotta be a way to test it or just looking at it to know if it's good or bad.
Many engine sensors you can but how do you test a wheel speed sensor?

My front tires are bald but the back tires have about half their tread left. The vehicle is only a 2001 so I want the tires to match. I'm sticking with the exact same tires because the bald front tires of my Buick Regal are original and have withstood 95,000 miles.

The problem is I can get $100 off 4 new tires even though 2 have about half their wear left. It will cost $220 for 2 or $340 for 4 new tires. These prices for the tires I want includes taxes, mounting etc. What should I do? Oh yeah I plan on keeping the vehicle for about 1-3yrs.

I have a 99 GMC Envoy that I swear is a lemon. We are constantly putting money into it only to have something else go wrong. It is never less than $500 to repair. Anyway, now the key will not come out of the ignition when the car is turned off. Also the heater goes from hot to cold, hot to cold as it is blowing out. Sometimes all the interior lights will come on for no reason. The exact thing happened about a year ago and we paid over $800 for a computer chip, which was supposed to take care of the problem. Anyone have any ideas? This is our only car and we still owe $4,000 on it, but it has already cost us 2,000 this year. HELP!!!!

Given the insane traffic and even craziers hills in part of the country, it seems like automatics would make their lives easier, but they almost ALL drive stick-shifts. Did automatics just never catch on in Europe?

I have had a car on "loan" (perminent) at the house, I needed to use it to get to work, as a situation arose where I could not use my truck.
1.5 miles from home, I rear ended the person infront of me, (foot slipped from break) at a yield sign.
I was going 5 mph. The vehicle I was driving was a 80's light truck - the grille and head lamps got smooshed. Driver #2 was driving a big huge suburban.
pulled over, police came, report was written - it was discovered the insurance was lapsed on my friends truck. CRUD!
I let the officer and the driver know that I would be happy to take care of anything that need to be done, so, all was OK.
Driver #2 , The officer and I saw no visable damage to her SUV.
I said, have it checked out, and let me know.
I get a phone call from Driver #2 - with a 750.00 estimate on her bumper. Remember no visable damage.
What should I do from here, I have Insurance on my Vehicle, but what if this estimate is for esthetics? Shouldnt her insurance contact me?

I have a 2003 GMC Envoy. It sat for a month or so not started etc. We jumped it to get it to start. There is a horrible disgusting smell (like a permanent solution or sulfer) that comes inside the car and can be smelled outside the car. THEN when I pop the hood, smoke is coming out of the battery case. Autozone said I needed a new battery. Is this what I need, how long can I drive it because I dont get pd until Friday!

I've posted before about this problem, it seems to be escalating a bit and it was in the automechanic shop for two days. My car is not starting up correctly, the locks shift, the dash lights flash, the engine turns, and then nothing. I gave it a little gas to get it started on Monday when we took it to the autoshop, and the gas just did not seem to flow through the car. I would push the pedal and not get a lot from it and it was also a little bit harder to push the pedal. The authomechanic shop checked it and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It also started perfectly everytime for them. They checked the fuel pressures and said it was fine. But, my car is driving completely differently now. There just isn't power and the engine sounds different as well. Where do I take it now? Could Autozone help? Take it to another mechanic? Is it even safe to drive? Thanks!

I was driving 60mph, all of a sudden this machine gun-like noise (exhaust..?) starts and people nearby turn to have a look, it was noisy. It seems it came from "left side from the back of the car", when I stopped in traffic lights, the noise also stopped. The car has recently felt a bit shaky, even though the roads don't have uneven surface. the car is 1995 Saab 9000CD, automatic transmission. Just bought a new battery for the car. Any help/ideas/suggestions very welcome.

ok, i drove 40 miles to the renaissance festival and then 40 miles back. i have a 96 neon (there's the problem i know). when i got off my exit when i got home, my engine sounded like garbage (very unusual, it runs pretty quiet) and the temp gauge went all the way up waiting at the light on the off ramp. i pulled into a lot and turned the car off and heard bubbling and saw my antifreeze pouring out under my car. a friend brought me antifreeze and a quart of oil (it was a bit low). i put them in after the temp was down and the antifreeze started coming out again. i made it back to my apartment about 3 min later with her following but it all gushed out again when it overheated again. less than 12 hours later the whole radiator was drained onto the ground. does it sound like water pump or cracked radiator or something else??
