Does anyone have any experience having a vehicle "soda-blasted", instead of sand blasted so that it can be restored? How well does soda blasting work, and how expensive is it?

i have heard of it ,but never seen it done yet, there's a shop not far from mine that is going to be doing this in about a week or so,he has invested in the equipment to do it with,I'm really wanting to see how well it does,I'm very doubtful that it will work that good, but everyone says it does,i just don't see how it could,i use a sand blaster and i know it works well, this may be better than sand ,i,ll soon find out, good luck .

Duplicolor has a bunch of paints and primers that are rust resistant, however it an area is currently rusting the only way to completely stop it is to sand or grind it off then seal it with a good primer.

Baking soda blasting produces less heat buildup and warping of metal than sand blasting and is non-toxic versus chemical stripping. Works very fast....not too expensive. Check some local sandblasting companies or resto shops for pricing.

Never heard of it before, but it sounds intreging. It sounds like a lot better method than sand.
