My car got repo'd yesterday and the dealer told me i have to pay the entire balance before i get the car back. The balance is 1,705.00, but i'm behind 500.00. He told me i have 10 days or he is reselling the car. In my contract there is no clause that states the dealer has the right to request the full balance but only what is past due. The dealer is a buy here pay here place. Any legal advice on getting my car back since i'm only behind 500.00 and they refuse to accept payment from me unless it is 1,700.00?

On a Z28 1988 TPI 350 engine can I replace the valve stem seals with out removing the rockers and thus not have to adjust them?

i my ex got me this car when we were together.innocently, i thought adding my name to it would really make it mine! so we had both names as Owners ( NOT one person AS A COSIGNER).my name was first cos i got better credit than him. well when we broke up, he said i should voluntary ask our creditor to reposses the car. i did not want to mess up my credit so i kept on with all the payments by myself for about 9 months without a late payment. then my ex called me up and said he will take the car and make the payments and i will only be responsible for the insurance. i thought it would be a relief not paying over $500 a month!!! about 3 months after he had the car i got a call from the car company saying our account has been on default for 2 months....i called him up and he said he can't afford the car and i will need to take it for a couple of months.then he said i should lend him some money to pay off the late payments. i said no.

What prompted me to ask this question is because, today, due to an imbecil of a driver, i had to wait twice, not once for the traffic to change to green. He drove so, so, slow, the traffic changed from green to red - as he approached it- and he stopped, making all of us, wait, again, until was green again.
I am a careful driver, and due to my job I cant have points on my licence, neither convictions, but I do get mad, frustrated and grumpy when i see the incompetence and lack of common sense and curtesy of some drivers. Why is so difficult to " think" of others too, when you drive?
I often "give them way" if they are stuck and always keep my distance.
So, what drives you crazy? and
Do you feel getting really angry about that, almost having to keep calm, enough so that it doesnt turn into a road rage?

My 1.6 L Protege has thrown a P0455 for several weeks now. I've called the local Mazda service guys, and they told me it was a gas cap, and to replace it - which I did with OEM. $26 later, and I re-ran the tests (cleared the code, with my ODB-II scanner) and reread the system. I haven't thrown the code yet, but it's in the "Pending" state. Mazda wants close to $100 to run the test and then decide what do do from there.

Anyone out there know what else it can be? The gas tank doesn't leak. My fiance and I have done a 'blow through' test, and there are no blockages. I'm at a loss. I don't want to scrap the car, but if Mazda wants several hundred bucks to fix it, is it worth it? It is a 99 after all, with an almost nil resale value (it's got 130K + miles on it.)

Thanks in advance.

I drive a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse GS. When I rev up the car, i begin to hear a hissing noise from the engine at about 3,000-4,000 rpm. When I shift into the next gear (lower rpms) it goes away until i reach the higher rpms again. This only happens when the car is in gear, if it is in neutral I cannot seem to get the noise. The engine is not turbocharged

What could this be? How do I find and fix the problem?

My wife had a quarter tank of fuel according to the gauge, when the car ran out of gas. The mechanic said the fuel pump needs replaced since that is where the sensor is. This si a $700 repair, and he advised that the car will still run without replacing th efuel pump. The gauge just isn't trustworthy. My thoughts are 1) If fuel pump is failing, car won't run for long. 2) Does he know what he is talking about or is he trying to sell me a pump I don't need? 3) Will an error code scan, tell us anything more about the fuel delivery system?

It makes a bubbling sound when I stop at a light and press on the gas. I drive mostly on the highway and use cruise control and don't hear it then. I have driven it about 180 miles since the repair and it has not overheated. What could this sound be?

Many American companies moved operations to Europe and China. By doing this, employees had an option to move with the company or be laid off.
Could many of these employees be commuting back and forth over the oceans just to save their jobs?
The pay would have to make it worthwhile, however.

What do you think?
