i don't have any example similar to this question in the book so i am not able to understand it.

while driving his sports car at 20.m/s down a four-lane highway, eddie comes up behind a slow-moving dump truck and decides to pass it in the left hand lane. if eddie can accelerate at 5.oom/s2 , how long will it take for him to reach a speed of 30.om/s?

(note s2 is for s with square root)
pls explain me how to do this since i have no similar examples to this in my book.

the car is a 95' ford escort. i thought it might have been a cv joint or something with the drive axles. it is pretty loud at highway speeds. the faster you go, the louder and faster the thumping gets. i took it to a shop and the mechanic said it was a tie rod and some kind of wheel bearing. he said they couldnt fix it and it probably isnt safe to drive. could i lose a wheel, from a tie rod? does anyone know what could be wrong with the tie rod and what kind of bearing he was talking about?

i was on my way home today and my car died while i was driveing. the battery light and the oil pressure light turned on. i put it in nuetral and it restarted no problem. i want to know what could've caused it to stall out. i really believe it's the battery because it just didn't seem to have the power this morning when i started it. this car has been trough a lot. the previous owner set it on fire, and killed the engine. so it had to be replaced. i just want to know what couldv'e caused it and how much it can cost to fix it. thanks,

A car can not even be sold unless it has gone through incredibly expensive federal crash testing, third party crash testing, and its own corporate crash testing. It must be equipped with airbags, seatbelts, and specific and expensive designs in the sheet metal and frame.
A motor cycle does not even cover the body of the occupant, it would fail any crash test (obviously) and has no seatbelts, airbags, sheet metal.
Not to mention they are noisy and sound like a flatulating farm animal, much like the riders of them. But that's besides the point.
Why are they allowed on the road?

Is there a way to check to see if tie rod is worn out? Do you turn the steering wheel and look to see if tie rod has any play in it??

I saw a side car the other day packed up with someones goodies. I am just amazed that there is not a sidecar marketed with this purpose. Unlike a trike's trunk, this "trunk" would be "removable". There are some interesting finds on the internet: I found one guy that used his to hold more gas and also found one that was just a flat bed for hauling.

I am so fed up, I almost want to stop driving completely. This has happened to me at least 4 times in the past few months, and I am afraid that I am going to get into an accident. Basically, I will be driving on the freeway going at the speed limit (usually 55-65) and someone will be on the ramp to merge, and they will not slow down at all, and just come right at me! Just 20 mins ago, a truck merged at the exact moment that I was right next to them, and I had to go into the other lane a little to avoid them! Don't get me wrong, I always let people in whenever possible, but when I am going at least 55, and have an older car that can't stop on a dime, there is nothing I can do except keep going. I feel that I'm not doing anything wrong, but I keep almost getting into accidents. Does anyone have any advice for me?

at first i wanted a 67 chevy impala but now i'm not so sure, I want something that will look great but not too expensive.

This is a big project for me and will probably take a few years so if you guys could give me a list of some good looking vintage cars that wouldn't be so expensive i'd appreciate it.

92 Honda Civic lx 5spd sedan, stalling and at times won't start.

I have replaced the following= fuel tank, fuel pump, main relay
When I accelerate thru the gears ....the car bogs
The car won't start sometimes...... if it does start it will snuff out. I wait and restart and seems to run ok.

Does it need a timing belt adjustment?
