I try to change my trans oil in my Escort but i have this cross member in the way.Do you have to remove that to get to a couple of bolts on the pan?Hope somebody knows.Thanks

Many vehicles have some piece that interferes with an easy task.

Some vehicles allow for this interference knowing that the engine can be lifted with a hydraulic jack or scissor jack. You do this by placing a wide thick piece of wood under the oil pan and jack or lift the engine up just far enough to get to those bolts.

This may or may not be the case with this model but it is essential on other models.

You'd think those slobs (Ford engineers) would stop throwing garbage together and then whine about poor sales and customer satisfaction.
