What is a gas hand?? I own a Suburban--owned 4 of them--never heard of a gas hand. No matter what it is--you have a problem and you need the dealer or a good reliable shop to fix whatever it is.

Is a gas hand the name for a gas gauge? If it is the usual problem with all of these is a bad fuel level sensor on the side of the fuel sender/pump inside the fuel tank. To check it, unplug the connector for the fuel tank and turn the ignition on. The needle should go way over full. Then ground the pink wire and the needle should go to empty. If it does this, you need the level sensor.

its probably the sending unit in the gas tank that has went out on it,this is a common problem with gm products,if i was you id replace the sending unit with a new unit,it also comes with a new fuel pump, even though it isn't bad right now,it will save you a fortune later on with it,that's the best way to do on these, replace everything as a unit, this way you don't have to worry about it good luck on it.
