need a little advice... seems everyone i talk to tells a diffrent story. i'm looking for a dirt bike. i will be using it to play arround in forestry, dunes, trails etc. i'm not looking to race, but it'd be nice to gas it and hit a jump. i'm only looking to spend about $1500.00 as this is my first bike and i'd hate to lay down a $5k machine. i'm looking at the 250's. i am undecided as to 2 vs 4 stroke and model. it seems hard to find a 4 stroke in my price range. i dont mind maintenence but i don't want to have to deal with adjustments while i'm on the trail. i just want a good bike i can play with... one that wont make me wish i had bought a diffrent or better one right away. weight range of the rider will be 160 lbs. the hardest part of selecting is that i have only ridden about 1 hour on a bike so i cannot got out test driving bikes as i wouldnt know what to look for.any non bias input would be great!

We are on a wild goose chase to get our engine light to turn off on our 99 ford escort. It wont pass the emissions test until it does....and until it does we wont be able to renew our registration.
Weve done a few repairs and maintenance things and its still on. It does however, still need a tune-up. Could this be a reason for the engine light to turn on? I feel like we're pouring money into several issues hoping to randomly find the cause of the light being on.
Im told the previous owners also had this problem.

I'm in a situation here. I am thinking about moving back home, now I can still keep my job, but I would have to commute to work every day which is about 1 hour and thirty min to 2 hours each way. Now the city I'm in is so much more expensive to live in then at home, and honestly I miss my family and surrondings. I'm so confused any advice. Serious answers only. If your under 18 please don't reply.

What happens when my car ins forwards my claim to the defense counsel? I made a left turn, and someone driving thru a red light hit me on the side rear of my car. Does this mean they don't think Im 100% at fault. Wouldn't they have determined liability already.

I had an o2 sensor malfunction code a few moths ago; I cleared the code per the haynes manual and it hasn't shown up again, but could a faulty o2 sensor cause a vehicle to run hot by running too rich of fuel/ air mix? Haven't noticed a decrease in mileage. The dealer couldn't tell me what was wrong; I replaced the thermostat with a new one (and tested it) then took the thermostat right out after I had the same results. I replaced my fan clutch, flushed, checked hoses, no air pockets, no leaks in coolant system, o2 pump works, radiator questionable but throwing a new on in is my next step. The only thing the worthless dealer told me is that there's no leak in the heads. Should I replace that bad sensor or change my radiator... did a sh*tload of trouble shooting on this problem.

I recently hired a company to install fake wood floors on my 42 ft catamaran. The floor ing seems to be lifting up in various locations. Of course, they claim that they will reglue any trouble spots, and want to get paid. I am of course concerned that if they re-glue now, and I pay, that it will be popping up all over the place later. ?/ Any knowledgeable floor people out there?

I have a 1996 Chrysler Concorde LX. Once the engine is warm, it seems to want to jerk when applying gas to accelerate. If I go into idle, the car dies.

Today, when in idle the car died, and it took me 15 minutes to get it to start. The engine would turn, a/c and radio turned on. But would not actually start. I thought it might of been the air filter or oil filter, so I had both replaced along with the PCL valve (i think that was what it was called) along with oil and coolant fluids yesterday. Still no luck. Any ideas

I have a 1996 Saturn that the transmission went out of, I decided it would not be worth fixing as it would cost me more than the car is worth, but my problem is, the day before my transmission went out, I filled my gas tank completely full. With gas prices as high as they are, I absolutely hate to get rid of this car without retrieving my gas. You cannot just siphon it, because it has one of those screens inside to prevent people from siphoning your gas. So does anyone know another way to get my gasoline out of the car before I sell it to a junk yard? We're talking about $40 or more worth of gas. Thanks for your help!

When going on a casual cruise - not when you're trying to gun it. Also, what kind of bike do you have?

Me: '78 Honda CB750K, 1st to 2nd - around 5k rpms and then between 5 and 5.5k rpms for every gear after that.

Bought an old, strong running '78 CB750K with only one real problem: sometimes the gear shift lever sticks in 2nd, making it difficult to kick it down and downshift to 1st; upshifting is no problem. Usually tapping at it repeatedly a few times will snap it into gear, but it's a very rough shift when that happens; it's usually followed with a loud clunking sound made from the gear engaging. Getting into neutral is also a pain at times - my guess is it's the same problem. I'm going to check on the clutch cable and make sure that it's properly engaging/disengaging. But what else could it be? What should I check and in what order?
