I have noticed a slight rattle underneath my car which I believe is the heat shield on the cat coverter. It only happens during cold starts and rattles for maybe 2 minutes if that. My question is can I tighten this part down or do I just need to go ahead and replace it if i want the problem solved? Thanks for all advise

The Car is : 1999 GMC Jimmy 4x4 with the 4.3L Vortec

Hello, without thinking I applied for an auto loan (through Drivetime) and was approved. However I would not like to buy a car for about 5 months. How long is the offer valid for if my circumstances/income/credit doesn't change?

Will I need to reapply and if yes, will the fact that it's a reapplication hurt my chances of being approved? Thanks.

Driving a stick-shift.
My friend does this all the time with his stick-shift car and encourages me to do it.
He shifts down to 2nd gear to slow down the car, followed by brakes to a full stop.
My problem is that the engine sounds to me like it's struggling. He claims it's not bad to do this (for either the engine or the transmission).

I know this "uses" the transmission/engine, but does it "damage" them over a short period of time?

Thanks.

I have an 18 foot v hull cuddy in the back yard and I have a rotating mast/sail/rigging in the shed. What would I need to consider to make the cuddy into a sailboat?

I have a pintle style rudder/tiller designed for a smaller boat, but I think it would work.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

I have a car that I am still paying off but I want to get my name off it from financing since it is my daughter who uses this and the dealer just used my credit to buy it at that time because she was only 17. Now that she is 18, can I make it appear that she bought the car so she can make the payments and that way have the title transferred to her. Or do I need to consult a lawyer?

I have a subwoofer box that uses two subs and has the front side sealed and backside ported, I believe this a bad design because all the sound come from the rear of the sub instead of the front. Which front I believe has the low frequency sound and the back has a higher frequency. Obviously I want low frequency because that is the purpose of the subwoofer. The subwoofer can't be switched around either. I want to know if I am right about this being a terrible design. Should I switch to a normal bandpass box or not.

I have a Nissan Maxima 1988. A rubber hose by the back left wheel is apparently old because it has cracked at the end and leaked fuel twice within the last year. Each time, I cut the bad part of the hose, repositioned, and re-fastened the hose. I cannot replace the hose without taking out the gas tank and everything else which I dont want to do. Can I couple a new piece of hose to the existing one using a piece of copper tubing or plastic tubing that would fit inside/outside of the hose? I don't want to have the hose fall apart on me or block the fuel flow.
