Check the March issue of Consumer Reports. If my memory is correct, the Rav-4 four cylinder engine got 22 mpg and the 6 cylinder engine got only one mpg less in CU's overall test of city/hwy driving. That's hardly a gas guzzler!

In the United States to qualify for the Gas Guzzler tax the vehicle's engine horsepower rating must be over 400. The Toyota Rav-4 is not even close to being classified as a Gas Guzzler in the U.S.

The 2 litre petrol might, but not the D-4D.

its based on the engine size and not if it has 4 wheel drive
