the 51 Ford probably used the Mercury engine (255 ci 112 hp)
and the 61 used the 390 FE, with either 330, or 375 HP there was even a special pursuit with 3 carbs that had 401 HP

There was no 1951 Galaxie. The Galaxie wasn't introduced until 1959. Likewise, there was no Interceptor package until 1957. The police cars had standard 239, 100 HP or rarely 255, 125 HP flatheads.

Sorry , no 51 galaxie , they made them from 59 -74
1961 galaxies :
1 - with 352 - 220 hp
2- with 390 - 300 hp
3 - with 390 PI 3x2v 400hp

It might be a 239 cu.in. Stock it was 100hp. The police package was probably hotter.
