I dont want to spend more the $20,000 new or used. Also I would prefer a mid size SUV or Car but I would concider a truck if I could find a good priced one (most are over $20,000) I have also check out Ford Excape and the Toyota Yaris. I know these are small but does anyone have any insite to these vehicles I want some something economical and good on gas with some style but I dont want something that I will regret in 2 or 3 years.

He has changed the master cylinder and bled the brakes. What else should he do besides taking it to the junk yard?

Generally speaking how hard would it be to rebuild an 86 Cadillac coupe deville? I bought it for $150 The guy blew the gasket and kept driving it, then the engine block cracked. Also roughly how much will i be looking at in parts? The car only has 50k miles on it and the interior and exterior are in great condition so i think it will be a cool project.

I have a 2001 Nissan Xterra. It has 76000 miles. It’s due for it’s first smog check next month. Should I just get it tested or is there something I need to replace to ensure it passes.

need help with rear brake pads. Have the caliper off and can't get the plunger to go down so the caliper will fit back over the new pads. Can anyone help. My dad is doing this so I may not be wording this right.

I always thought it was just people not knowing any better, but I drove for a week on a quarter tank, putting 5 dollars in every day. My in-car trip computer reported an average around 25MPG. Today I filled it to 3/4 and averaged 28. I always figured when the car weighs less (with an empty tank) it would get better mileage. Anyone know what's up with that?

I was in an accident on 2/13/07 and I can't walk. I have a broken leg and have to use a wheelchair. My car was totalled and I'm out of work for atleast six months (I might need another surgery). I keep crying all the time, it upsets my fiance and he doesn't understand why I even cry about it. I have a lawyer for my case because the accident was not my fault at all. I don't think he is doing anything for me. I just don't know where to turn, I keep seeing the accident replay in my head and I can't sleep. I don't know what to do anymore and I don't think this is normal. What is your opinion?

Forgive my ignorance of cars, but I was curious - if keeping your connections clean, your contacts free of sand, dirt, corrosion, and otherwise - why do batteries need to be thoroughly greased when they are placed in a vehicle?

i have a 1992 4 door chevy caprice the stereo and lighter port have both stopped working i believe it is a fuse issue where is the fuse pannel located i looked under the dash but could not see one. do i have to take it to a shop or are there just a couple of big round fuses i have to change please help

I have an auto '91 Integra LS with about 265K miles on it and it still runs well. However, I have a problem with the brakes. Everytime I stop at a light or whenever I stop anywhere and I keep my foot on the brake for about 20-30 seconds, the brakes start fading away and the car starts moving forward!! I almost got into a fender bender once because of this, but whenever I stop I have to shift the car into neutral.

Anyone know what could be causing this? Please, don't say "go buy new brakes", I do plan on doing that, but I want to know what the problem exactly is. Thanks.

The problem that I am having is that the wireless connection method is no good if you travel long distances (700 Miles). The fm channel that you need to select keeps changing. The radio I have does not have input jacks for satelite radio. It does not have a cassette player so I can not use a cassette adapter. Is there any type of CD apapter for satelite radio? Does anyone have any ideas. I do not want to buy another radio.

I have a Chevy Nova wagon with a 4 speed and a 194 6 cylinder. I have added headers and dual exhaust. I will be adding a 2bbl soon. Rear gears are 3:36 tires are 14/70s. The car gets driven daily and I want more grunt out of it.
The two cams I'm looking at are Comp Cams's 252H and 260H.
The manufacturer suggests I go with the 260H. My only concern is a large drop in gas mileage. The cam I have now is stock. Granted the valves will be held open for higher and longer times, but for the times I'm driving "normal" will this be an issue? Thanks.

Hi there, my corsa 1.2 8v is using excessive fuel. It's a 1998 model. I posted on here last night however i have had further checks on it today.
It definately isn't the head gasket as it has had a compression test, it's not the spark plugs or ht's as they have been replaced and checked. The car is still firing on 3 cylinders and is very tappy the engine. The garage told me that one of the holes on one of the tappets could be blocked as the oil was solid and gungy when i got the car. Does any body know how to unblock these? I was just going to take the rocker cover off and unblock and clean it, however the machanic said that i would have to take the head off? What do you clean inner engine parts with?

this car has been overheating intermitently, usually at an idle, when It gets moving goes back to normal op temp. See no visible leaks loss of fluid, oil or exhaust shows no sign of coolant, no much if any coolant prob one.

prob two- car died loss of power, lights everything fine, restarted car, ran 10 miles, died again, keep foot on gas peddle would stay running, got home checked fuel pressure 40 psi, had spark at all cylinders, would start with starting fluid. next day check codes none, started, died at first when put foot on gas peddle happened several times, finally after let it build up ran fine, and could rev up fine did this turning off and on about 5 times. any ideas this is my dads car and he doesn't have the money to throw parts at it. I appreciate any and all help. I have more defined definition but this only lets me say 1000 words. thanks ahead of time

My bike just blew out very dusty black powder with a pop sound and kept doing that for like a minute like it is clogged.
What does that to the bike?
sometimes it runs pretty good but other times, it idles poor(dies when hot) so when i increase the idle adjustment, it idles OK but when i revv it up, the RPM stays high for a while and come back. I think that's because idle adjustment is too high?? but if i don't do that, idle will go too low and bike will die.
Clogged muffler will cause this?

Looking at an offer for new pontiac that ends Apr 3, for 0% APR (we would qualify) and $1000 bonus. Are these kinds of offers quite common? Finding that even with options, the used prices on the same vehicle arent much less, compared to this offer plus a higher loan rate on a used car loan.
