I have a 2001 Nissan Xterra. It has 76000 miles. It’s due for it’s first smog check next month. Should I just get it tested or is there something I need to replace to ensure it passes.
Thanks for you help

Get an oil change if you haven't recently. Change the air filter. 76,000 miles is nothing. As long as there's nothing majorly wrong mechanically, you should pass. I've got a car that has 175,000+ miles on it and it passed smog inspection a month or so ago.

Good luck!

no longer something to do with the aftermarket exhaust (once you're speaking a pair of cat lower back) till it quite is a seen examine in some states (ie california). you will desire to have the obd port scanned you have codes that would desire to be fixed that are no longer triggering a CEL. in case you have a head-lower back (header, downpipe, cat lower back) then it might desire to be the aftermarket exhaust if that is interfering with the o2 readings yet I doubt it in this motor vehicle (normally it occurs with rapid/supercharged vehicles purely and normally purely placed up-cat).

Take it in and see what you have, it should pass, unless there is a problem with it. A new air filter wouldn't hurt, in fact, with that mileage you should be getting close to a tune-up
