One vehicle has anti-lock brakes, the other has side curtain airbags, which is more important for safety. There will always be children in the backseat, and live in a climate with cold, snowy, and icy winters.

My 99 Civic heats up, 3/4 way, when I stop at a red light or traffic...but only after ive been driving for over 30minutes. Once I start going again it goes back down or I turn my heater on to help it cool off and it works. Today my check engine light came on. Anyone know why this might be??

Why do the "green" people who make all the lists about the most "green" cars not mention Volkswagen's diesel engines? I own a Passat TDI and I get about 50MPG. Yet i never see anyone talking about the fact that VW has some of the most efficient cars on the market.. And they will outperform any Toyota or Honda hybrid (acceleration and handling) and last a lot longer because the TDI engine is nothing short of bullet proof. At the VW dealer I go to they have plaques with odometers and they are all over 1 million kilometers. Any ideas???
By the way, many car companies now have plans to offer small diesel engines like VW.

I have to change a rear break light on my 95 Corolla and am having dificulty getting the rear tail light assembly off to get at the bulb. I have taken off the 2 screws from the outside, and the one nut on the bolt from the inside of the trunk, but there are 2 clips on the side portion protruding into the trunk which I can't figure out how to remove. Any ideas?

I was at the Ford dealer looking at new Fusions. I drove one I really liked, but it had some equipment I didn't like. The dealer said he could get one for me that was identical minus the extra equipment I didn't want.

Should I have agreed and bought the car then? The dealer said it would cost a couple of hundred to get it there, so they weren't willing to bring it unless I bought.

I did end up signing. Was that a stupid mistake?

What would have happened if the car came and was not what I wanted? Could I still back out after signing the papers the previous day? This would be in California.

Volume is a simple retail concept. Often, you can sell more of something if you lower the price and usually make more money in the long run. This is the idea that made Wal-Mart so successful. So in the long run, wouldn't the retail gasoline industry see incentive to lower prices if people always bought the cheapest gas they could find, even if it meant driving farther? People aren't going to stop driving, and many drive the same amount regardless of the cost of gas (abliet they complain more). But if everyone bought the cheapest gas all the time I think prices at the pump would decrease some as companies tried to compete with one another. Of course, there are many other factors that determine the price of gas, but do you agree that this principle could work to some small degree, if everyone practiced it? I only ask because of a recent article on Yahoo, denouncing driving farther to save a few cents on gas as a "whaste of money". Only in the short run, I say.

I recently have been burning a lot of oil, ecspecially when I accelerate from a stop I get a big cloud behind me. The car has always burned a lot of oil even though the heads and valves were done last year. I did just shorten the intake pipe to make the air filter more accesable, but I doubt thats it. I also did put in some fuel injector cleaner in about a week ago. Any thoughts? Is this serious, or should I just get a prelude?
