I know im missing the trick here but how do i get the large bolt removed without turning the crankshaft at the same time

It would be MUCH simpler if you could get access to an impact wrench. There are electric ones and you can rent them...

If that's not an option generally there are some large holes in the flexplate that you put a large bar in (like a tire iron) and rotate the engine over until it stops on something, that should do it.

Remember you will need a gear puller to actually get the balancer off the crank...

You could lock the flywheel but then you take the risk of bending or breaking a tooth what i would suggest is to use a nylon strap wrench! hope this helps

Old school.
Prop a breaker bar against the frame and turn the key.

If engine in car put it in gear if not lock flywheel.
