I bought a 1978 GMC Pickup. The previous owner removed the radiator and left the transmission lines lay at a downward angle and transmission fluid leaked out. The dipstick isnt the proper one and I need to find out how many quarts i should put in it to get the tranny to engage without overfiling. I dont want to burn the tranny up. So i put 5 quarts in it until the awfully short looking dipstick said full. I ran through the gears and slowly ,while in drive, applied very little acceleration. It didnt attempt to engage so I stopped. I need to atleast have a general idea of the fluid capacity for a transmission in this 78 GMC. Please a close guess would be appreciated.

Hi, i just had a car accident last night. I was at fault because i didnt stop to give way. I have just reported to the insurance company and the claims department are working on it. I know i have to pay the excess on my car, to get it repaired at the insurers approved repair centres. Hopefully i will get a courtesy car.

I am fully comprehensively covered but am wondering after the car is repaired, is the excess all i have to pay? Will there be extra charges because i was 'liable' for the accident? The other partys car got moderate damage also but luckily no injuries and do claim for injuries either.

Thanks for any help and advice on what i should do.

I didn't use the changer for a month because I have to transfer it to my other car. When I finally installed it, It works fine, can read CD's but then I receive Very little sound from my receiver. I get no error messages from receiver. The changer used to work fine before. Do you think it has something to do with the lens? Or does it deteriorated because of not using it for too long?

I drained the oil. Then I went to change the filter and couldn't find the thing. I heard that it might be located in the top of the vehicle inside a compartment or something. I have never heard of that. I have only delt with the canister type.

1. Where's the friggen filter?
2. How much good did I do by only changing the oil and not the filter?

Has anyone have any experience with any of these cars, I am a new driver and would need an estate car to transport all university things to and from home. I would require low insurance group, so it has to be a Passat 1.6 Estate, (Surprisingly) a Golf Estate 2.0 (~2000), a Focus 1.6/1.8TD Estate or a Vectra 2.0 DTI (2000). Which one has the biggest boot, when I move into university at the start of the year we used a 2006 Zafira, all my things took 1 trip of stuffing the whole boot plus half of the second row seats down, and another trip with almost the whole boot full (another words - it took almost the whole back of the Zafira to transport all my stuff) Can anyone help?

The Cadillac Catera is a car that was released by GM in late 1996, and has a red duck with a big yellow beak and big feet named Ziggy. Ziggy appeared in the Cadillac Catera ads and tv commericals from 1996-1999 with the phrase "The Cadillac That Zigs". GM discontinued Ziggy the Duck in their ads around 2000 after several modifications on the Cadillac Catera, and then discontiued the Catera in 2001. The Cadillac Catera was then replaced with the Cadillac CTS in 2003.

I have a 2001 Voyager, had continuous noise coming from under hood. Told by dealer that it is the drive belt and pulley not doing its job properly. Had it replaced, still made noise, told it was other pulleys so they we cleaned, came away noise started again returned to dealer had pulley replaced again, noise still present told neeeded new alternator, replaced this and what a surprise the noise has returned again.

Any suggestions, do not want to sell car, love it, but getting no where in respect to repairs and substantial amount of charges etc. our car has now been back to garage 4 times in last 8 weeks.

Has anyone had this problem, or have any other ideas what it might be? If it's a lifter should it just need a valve adjustment, and how much should I expect to pay? Would this effect fuel economy? I've been getting about 19-20mpg, it's mostly city driving but I drive pretty conservatively. I would think I should get a little better mileage than that. Thanks.
