I drive a '99 Saturn SL...I think I killed it. I put a quart of oil in it while it was running, cuz I thought it was empty (because I checked it while it was running). While I was doing so, the engine started to jerk a bit and then it died.
It still starts ok and drives, but it smokes VERY bad from the exhaust pipe and at first it wouldn't go any faster than 20 mph. My dad drove it and said it drove fine, but it would still start to smoke after driving it for about a minute.

Don't tell me about how stupid of a mistake that was, because I already know. I know now that its only the transmission fluid you check while its running. It was my first car and I was destined to kill it. Anyway, if you can help in any way (suggesting a good way to find a new car if I have to) then do so please :D

yea.. im thinking about getting a more "street sport" stlye bike but im pretty small and a couple of people told me i wouldn't be able to handle it but i always thought that if your strong enough it doesn't matter your size? what do you think? thanks! and if you do have a motorcycle what kind do you have and do you finds it handles well? or do you know of any that does? thanks!

O the joys of a used car! Now it's the back wiper. I have a '99 Outback Legacy whose back wiper just conked out today. I was able to manually move it back to the lowered position. No smell of burnt wires. Is there anything I can do myself? Thanks for advice.

I know I asked this question earlier, but I guess I wasn't specific enough. After replacing the head gasket, the intake and exhaust gaskets, it won't start and we thought we had the timing and everything set right. (I have a book & it's not much help.) there are several marks on the cam & I don't know which one to line up. there's a diamond, a triangle, and an indentation. any advice?

Now we all know that the winner (if in the US) will be someone from the midwest that doesn't need another #$@%$#! car or has enough money to buy 10 and doesn't need to get one for free. At least that's been my experience with everything (i.e. the lottery) out here on the East Coast!

The suggestion was that he did it up to a quite high mph without pulling his arm out of the socket. He would be 'translating' the forward movement of the train into rotational motion around the pole which swung him up onto the car!
