I am residing in a foreign country and do e-bay there. I am not allowed to work in that country so I have a US account. I am not a US resident but intend to file US taxes for my American e-bay account. Since I am not a US resident, I do not live in any state. So am I exempt from state taxes for my business? Conversely, if I do have to pick a state, does that mean I qualify for resident benefits from that state, such as WIC and being able to claim my daughter is a resident of that state, although we are not US residents? If I have to pick a state, I want state benefits.

I filed my 2006 tax return through Turbo Tax. Since I owe the IRS for the federal tax, I paid through IRS.gov. Would that be sufficient? Do I still need to complete the Turbo Tax e-file or not? I believe it's not needed but I still want to know if I'm right about that. Thanks.

This is what happend I did my fiancees taxes online. I thought I made sure I typed in everything but I didnt. Since I messed up on his federal I missed typing in state income tax . since I missed typing in state income tax they sent him a form stating he owed them almost $300. which he dont owe them since I figured out what I did wrong . I went back in and fixed it and now its saying that state owes him $24.00.

My question is what do I do to fix that sort of thing please explain?

I got my taxes prepared by an accountant and he efiled my federal tax return and he told me to mail the check since I owe. I was wondering whether I should include a hard copy of the federal return also or is it ok to mail just the check as he said?

I am curious because it has been reported that was the income of the Bushes this year. I found that the tax they reported paying (185k or 24.3%) was an amount I considered low, percentagewise, for that rate of income. I find it hard to believe that I (having considerably less income) am in a higher tax bracket than George and Laura Bush.

These are the things that make me long for our government to go ahead and repeal the 16th amendment, institute the Fair Tax, and restore sanity to the funding of our government. Do you know about the Fair Tax? Check out www.fairtax.org. Do your elected representives support the Fair Tax? Check out www.vote-smart.org to find out.

I worked for a consulting company in Texas and they got me contract work in Pennsylvania. I worked 6 months in PA and came back to Texas. I got my W2 .

In my W2, the State is mentioned as Texas and since Texas has no state taxes , the boxes with State wages [16], State income tax[17] are empty.

Further more my company has also listed my address as a houston,Texas address and not my Pennsylvania address.

So on my W2- there is no mention of Pennsylvania. My question is do I need to file taxes with PA because I resided and worked in PA.

Thanks in advance

The IRS Audited me by mistake and the dept of Tres are issuing me my money back in 45 days? Ever heard of this happening and taking so long? Should it take this long? Is it possible I will get it back sooner? A collection agency billed me by mistake and cancelled the debt, thats why it lead to all of this stuff.

I have filed for the EIC while doing my taxes. I got my refund back but I didn't get the money that I was supposed to get for the EIC. I was wondering whether it would be deposited seperately into my account or whether it would be mailed, because I still haven't gotten the other part.

I just found out I owe $7000 in taxes for last year, due to my income from my [now defunct] partnership being listed as a "Guaranteed Payment" instead of a passive, capital draw (loan from the company). I disagree, but getting the investor/partner to amend the K1 in my favor is unlikely, as poor records were kept and this K1 favors him as far as tax deductions go. And I'm probably not going to be able to fight him.

I've heard the IRS works with people in these cases. I'm 24, unemployed, don't own a house, have $2,000 in credit card debt. I've got about $6,000 cash in hand, but I'm moving next month and half of it'll be gone within 6 weeks. Do you think the IRS will settle with me? And how much, realistically, can I expect the IRS to knock off of that amount? How do I go about negotiating a settlement with the IRS after my return is filed so I don't get penalized. Also, H&R Block wants $408 to do my taxes? Is this excessive? Jackson Hewitt told me they couldn't do it, period. Thanks!

A constant income in the goverment supports growth. Also you know what you pay and it is automatically taken out of your check. Do you think this would help all in the end?

If wages had kept up with production in this country the medium income wold be $60,000 instead of $40.000.
Henry Ford was asked why he payed his workers so much, and he replied "so they can buy my cars." Some how this simple concept has been lost on the business community.
You lower taxes for the middle class and another branch of goverment (state, federal, and local ) raise fees. Texas is a prime example of this, just look into thier plans for toll roads: which are a tax in disguise, and the money pulled out of this will not go into the public coffers, it will go to investers who are granted a monopoly.
The heads of corporations are over compensated i.e. over a 190 million doller retirement package for the retiring CEO. of Exxon Mobil.
EVERY NATION THAT HAS FAILED TO MAINTAIN A VIBRANT MIDDLE CLASS HAS FALLEN. Learn your history, or are we to wait until the peasants are in the streets with pitch forks, and torches, while the 1st lady says "let them eat cake".
