the irs "wheres my refund?" website says that my refund was direct deposited to my account on april 13th. i still dont see anything posted to my bank account. how long does it usually take to post to an account? because i received my state about 2 weeks ago and it was avaliable the same day. any ideas?

the irs website says that it has in fact been deposited to my account, but my bank is saying i have no pending transactions and that when the deposit is received it will be posted to my account immediatly. ugh. this is frustrating!

It will be there by Monday .. Call you bank tomorrow if possible and see if it is pending ... hopefully there was not a typo when entering your bank account info or you may have to waut 6-8 months to get a check!!!
Good Luck!

If they say it was deposited on that specific day, then it should be there. When something is deposited it may not be available right away but you can be able to see that a deposit had been done. Though, the check is available to see the next day. If it is cash, then this can be available right away. Take in consideration that some banks put holds in check that have large amounts. Still, the deposit should be seen in the statement. I suggest you to call the IRS for more current information. When you call, you must have your IRS tax return with you. They will ask you for SS#, address, marital status, type of forms filled and and amount of return. You may want to ask for prove. You may also want to print out your bank statement to make sure that the money is or isn't there. Sometimes, a bank can make a mistake on depositing/withdrawing checks/cash to/from other accounts. So look out. The problem can be blame to misspelled names, hard to read account #, or simply the teller typed a wrong account #. Also, you may want to talk to a bank officer (representative) other than a teller. They have computers that are limited in certain things. A loan officer for example can look into your account in more depth as their computers are more capable. Good luck with that

Well, it depends upon what time it was deposited on the 13 th. It also depends on your bank. I have money regularly direct deposited and it always takes at least a couple of days for the money to " clear " into the account. Banks do this to make money on the " float ", plus it does take a little time. And with the weekend, it might be Tuesday before it shows up. You could call your bank on Monday and inquire as to the status of the deposit. Good Luck.

To put it simply, if the IRS site said it was deposited today-April 13-it should of shown up in your account as a deposit pending today. Ours have always shown up the exact same day that they said it was deposited. Hopefully it will show up in your account by Monday-Good luck!

Well, if you requested a direct deposit, you won't have to worry about waiting for a check. Bostonian is correct... the posted dates are an estimate based upon their workload, and the time at which your taxes were filed. My recommendation is to file AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE next year. I file every year at the beginning of February and always get my state and federal return within a few weeks... If you want your filing expenses paid for this year, check out the below link!

if you had red the whole thing after the date deposited, i believe it says wait up to a week before contacting again if your bank isn't showing the deposit

If you filed through someplace like H&R Block and had them take their fees out of your refund, your refund will go to them first and it will take an extra day or so for them to process it. If you didn't do that, then it should be there by morning, or by Monday at the latest.

Your bank may be just a little slow in posting. It happens all the time.
