I have found in the recent days of venturing out to buy furniture that there are a lot of guys who sell the same kinds of furniture as Rooms-to-go and roomstore and ashley furniture. They claim that they get this from the same distributors and I believe it to be true because the quality is the same. They also have catalogs of furniture which they use to order. Some of these guys don't even have a warehouse, they just use public storage.

My question is does anyone know how can I get started on becoming a furniture dealer? It seems to be a good business to be in. I need information on where to get the catalogs or get in touch with distributors etc.

A friend of mine and I were in a hardware store today and he picked up a granite vase. Upon picking it up at the neck, it crumbled and shattered on the ground. Furthermore, his hand got cut in the process. The owner charged my friend (20% off the sticker price) for the piece. We think that their may be a consumer law (in California at least) stating that the company can not charge the consumer accidental damage, but he paid anyways (with the intent of stopping payment on his credit card). Does anybody know the legality of this situation?

your business would be in the basement of the home? What is the best way to handle this if the mortgage is a little higher than you'd like getting started, but in a couple years, it would work out perfect for both home/business?

We are a small gift shop and owned by 5 women. Four out of five think we should be able to be paid as long as we are paying on our debt and one thinks we shouldn't be paid until our debt is paid.

I've been thinking about opening up a WIC store. Like a one stop shop for your WIC. But I would also carry all baby essentials. Bottles, diapers, medicine, clothing. Would you think it would be a good idea to have somewhere you can stop and get your WIC filled and also have all other baby essentials or would it be just as simple to go to the supermarket?

I wanted to start a small coffee shop and currently have $30,000 in savings. Although I am still developing the business plan and budget, I am afraid that this won't be enough even if I lease a property. Does anyone have any good idea? What would be the average budget to start this type of business?

I write with Associated Content, and I am looking to start a *very* small web design company. How much money am I allowed to make before I have to actually start a business, verifying with my state, claiming on taxes, etc? I don't want to make too much and be pushed into that.
