I have a small business that sells fine jewelry, fashion accessories and gift items. I handwrite all my receipts since my register does not printout receipts with descriptions. I just bought a register that prints out receipts with a brief department description displayed, Royal alpha710ml Cash Management System. Sometimes I get a sale for under $10 that doesn't require a written receipt so the register printed receipt will be fine. Sometimes, I get a sale for well over a $100 for a single item. If it is jewelry, the customers want a detailed recipt showing it is 14K gold, etc so I plan to ring it up under gold and handwrite a receipt. Is it okay to do it this way to handwrite some but not all as long as everything is entered in the register? I can store 2000 items descriptions in the new register and I plan on doing that with new merchandise. I can't do it with old inventory because i have too many pieces to enter. It would be way to time consuming. Any advice appreciated.

I've recently created a business plan and am trying to expand my business online. E-Commerce. I need a hosting site that sets up PayPal and other credit card services. I know Ebay is an option but that's not really what I'm looking for. I would like my own domain name and an easy accessible site to sell my products with no hassle. Any suggestions?

The town I reside in has no other businesses like it and in bigger cities it is a popular trend. The local population is around 100,000 and I've read that mobile car washes can take 15% of a regular car washes business.

I am planning to buy a retail liquor store in St. Louis. Sales are about $400,000. Average total mark-up is 23%. Profits after imputing a wage of $10/hr. are less than $15,000/yr. Any guidelines or rule-of-thumb on what a reasonable price for a business of this type might be, in addition to inventory?

I signed up for phone service with McLeod USA and I switched carriers to AT&T because of no service for 4 separate weeks and my small business directory listing was not in the upcoming phone book as promised. The deadline for the phone book was Jan.31 2007 and I signed up in Nov. 2006. AT&T charges a $99 early termination fee. But McLeod charged me an outrageous $612.87. Is that legal? They didn't specify in the contract either. Please let me know your opinion.

Me and my friend have talent talking and flirting with woman around the ages 18-26. We are both 21. Do you think there is a market for us to start a business helping shy guys or guys that lack a little confidence when it comes to initiating conversations and meeting woman. We will have him tag along and learn from the "pros." What would you charge for a service like this and would you think someone around 18-23 would actually need help and buy our service?...

Because of ill health and not so strong physical poisition, I am thinking of starting paid survey online. Has any member here has been doing it or have done in past. From my search, I found out that there's a company name SurveyScout, based in USA, they charge you one time 34.99 US which they claim is for giving us their information of good companies which pays for online surveys. They say that if not satisfied within 8 weeks, they refund our money. Serious readers please help. Thanks.
