My disabled father informed me today that he is 5 months behind on the mortgage and the house will be forclosed on. I am only 22 and live in my own apartment. Is there anything my father can do? He does not have the money to catch up.

My boyfriend and I moved to Oregon from california when he got a job transfer and that didn't work out so now he's not working.. and soon enough I'm not going to be able to work because I'm 6 months pregnant & tired! so we're going to have to end our lease and go back to California so I'm wondering how we could end our lease without it going on our credit.. if that's possible?

Any Ideas?

Thank You!

My hubby and I are looking for a new place because our current Landlords are selling the home.We have two options allowing us to stay in the same neighborhood.

Option A. 3bedrooms for $1750
Utilites not included
You get full access to backyard have the garage for storage, Washer and Dryer and a peaceful older woman who works all Day.

Option B. 3bedrooms $1600
utilities not included
young couple in their 20's early 30's
we would be saving $150 with this apartment.

P.S. Both home owners just bought these houses
who would you rent from.Option A is our current neighbor, Option B is a 2min walk, where we are now.

I am currently renting out my property. I have wooden polished floorboards. One of the boards has been cracked open and split due to the wheels of the tennant's chair continuously rolling over it. They've lived there for 1.5 years. I have asked for a piece of plastic or a rug to be placed underneath the wheels of the chair but they have not done this.

I spoke to my property manager who has advised this is 'wear and tear' and not classed as 'damage'. I am not sure if her advice is correct.

If anyone is a landlord and can educate me on 'wear and tear' that would be great!

I'm moving into an apartment Friday afternoon, and was wondering how to get electric in there... I'm a college student and this is my first apartment, so I really don't know what I need to do.
Also, do I need to call a place to get water?
Thanks.

Okay so my husband and I fell in love with this beautiful home that was foreclosed. The previous owners put a ton of work into it and ended up losing the house. My biggest fear is that if we buy it, the old owners are going to come back and do something to it or us. Okay maybe I'm a little paranoid, but does this kind of thing happen???

HI..I am basically in the market for a mortage..
looking for 153 grand loan, 30 year fixed..about a 6. something rate,..make 32 grand..credit score of 791/able to afford 1200 monthly sorta mortage payment..don't want to put lil if anytihng on a downpayment
the problem I'm running into is the lender either has all these fees and a lower rate or a higher rate and no extra "fees".
I wasn't expecting a 5 percent rate..but this guy at usbank offered me a plan with 2 rates..6.6 for the first..7.6?? for the rest??
..it isn't like I am dirt poor or have bad credit..
what do you think is a good rate for someone in my situation..
is there a good mortage lender that has a no down payment 30 yr fixed mortage lower interest rate and no fees out there..or am I dreaming

sure I know this isn't a perfect world..but it feels like I'm swimming with the sharks
I'm in the Kc.mo area if this helps

Our realtor has shown our house one time in the last month! I know the market is low right now, but when do I draw the line?

They are four houses, two in Oakland CA, and two in San Francisco CA.
Lower middle class neighborhoods.
All rented.
Plus, my Dad has given me plenty of money over the years, so I owe him.
How much should he pay me a month? He's offering me a hundred dollars a month. Is that too little?
Don't forget this is California - Everything's more expensive here.

Our realtor has argued with us about our selling price since day 1; our house is now listed 30 days. We should've excused her from helping us, but she's a family friend. She goes on and on about our house smelling like dog. It can't since we bath them weekly, and we're serious clean freaks. Plus, we've had no complaints of smell from the 7 buyers who've seen our house! She admitted only AFTER signing as our realtor that she's not familiar with selling in our subdivision and has never sold homes within it. OMG! She's "pushing" us to drop the price and we've told her we're in no hurry to sell. Her price suggestion is so low we should stick a sign in our yard saying "FREE, first come, first serve"! We live in Central Texas and want to know if anyone has ideas. Can we get out of her contract? I don't want her getting a dime from us.

He then told her that he and his wife were looking for a single famiy to rent out his 2 bedroom 1 car garage home for $800 a month. She then later at our apartment gave us the news since we lived in a 1050 sq ft apartment which we pay almost a $1,000 a month broke the news to us and we were excited about moving in! Since we are going to be able to save couple hundred bucks more a month we said " why not!.. We always wanted to rent a house instead of an apartment with units. When we can rent a home that has a yard and garage!" So we meet this guy and we introduced ourselves and also showed us the home. It's about 1092 sq which was a little larger than our apartment. He said that he needed it to be moved in no later than a month and so we did. It's been 3 months being a tenant and he now tells us the house is foreclosing. And for the past 3 months we've been having issues with our landlord. He also one time let his self in the house without giving notice!! Please help us??....

I am currently in a situation. My dad is the owner of the house that my brother, his girlfriend and me. We each split the rent and the bills. We are not under any lease, contract, verbal…..just we know that we pay the space lot and utilities, while my dad pays the mortgage.

My brother, his girlfriend and I all live at my dad’s house. My dad does not live there but pays the mortgage while we all split the space lot and utilities. (We would just write him a check each month)
The cable bill is under my name and the space agreement and all other utilities are under my dad’s name.
The living situation with my bothers girlfriend is NOT working out. She already threatened to beat my up and to smash things in the house (which I have on video). My dad also wants her to leave cause of the problems that keeps accruing. She disrespects me and I had an enough. I want her OUT. He even talked about asking them (brother and her to leave)

What can my dad or I do to make her get out.

Thank you,

Iwantherout

After renting at this home for 3-4 weeks, my dog had escaped 3 times. I went around the property and inspected the fence. It had obviously been rotting for quite some time and I had taken some time to nail in all the loose fence boards and made the landlord aware of the problem more than once. Even with new nails, some fence boards were so rotted they would not hold with just a nudge. My German Shepard got out again, this time getting hit by a car costing $6,500 and counting. Is the landlord responsible for at least half if not more for not making the necessary repairs on the fence knowing there was a problem and still allowing backyard pets?

My husband and I have been looking at houses for the past year or so (nothing serious) but we rarely can find a house we can agree on. He found a bank owned home listed for $75000, three bedroom one bath, 1.5 stories, three out buildings and not to mention the 2.98 acres. This thing needs a lot of cosmetic work... new siding, new carpet, new drywall in most rooms, new windows. It also doesnt come with any appliances. I am not happy with the kitchen, although the cabnets are new, they look cheap and I dont even think they installed them correctly. It is also in the country so it needs a water softner.
The monthly payment for this thing would only be about 200 more than what we are paying now, but we really wont have that much extra money to play around with regarding fixing the place up as fast as I would like (with-in the first year). My husband is a carpenter do he could so a lot of the repairs. Is this a good idea? I am scared that there are just too many repairs. Any ideas?
