I closed on a refinance mortage and supposedly paid off a previous second mortgage, only to find out that the payoff amount was incorrect on the closing statement. I understand that I would need to pay it if it was still outstanding, but instead the difference was paid by the title company who made the error. Now they are trying to collect on their payment over a month after we closed on the mortgage and after I received the notice from Chase that the previous loan was paid in full. I dont have any records of documents stating that I need to pay the title company for their errors- only my lender. Any help would be appreicated!!!

Thanks,

Jason

I moved into a duplex house that I have to split my utilities (water only) with. My neighbors have told my landlord that I havr had a man living with me since I moved into the house three months ago. I have tried to explain to him that my boyfriend does spend the night occasionally, but he does not spend enough time at my home to consider that he lives with me. He has asked for the identity of my boyfriend and I refuse to give it to him. He has gone as far as sending me a certified letter saying he is bringing the police to my house for a visual inspection and that if I don't reveal my boyfriends id he will be evicting me. I have tried to reason with this man but he is hell bent on putting me out. My boyfriend has his own place and has even offered to show my landlord his lease, but the landlord will not comply. I feel as though he is using this as retaliation for what he feels as me not being honest with him and the fact that my lease states he can evict me without cause. help!!!!!!!!

Ok - so my boyfriend works in Edinburgh, I work in Glasgow. We live (together) in Glasgow. The two cities are about 50 miles apart - it takes him about an hour to commute (an hour and a half door to door) each way. Not ideal.

SHould we buy somewhere for a year half way? While on paper this sounds ideal, we will actually spend £1200 ( about $2400) a year MORE if we both need to commute. Not to mention the legal fees, survey, building insurance etc etc.

He wants to work in Glasgow, because I am tied here for the next 2 and a half years...which is why we are only wanting to move for a year.

It's likely that the house we buy will increase by £6000 - £8000 over the next year (but of course we can't be sure - just guessing due to past performance...risky I know).

My question - would we actually make anything? What happens when you sell a house? HOw much does that cost? I can't find any info on that....

Or does it just depend on the type of loan?

I moved out of a rented property a couple of months ago after 1 year. I cleaned the carpets and made good any damages as the agreement. I have now been told that a some of money from my deposit is being held back to pay for a contractor to tidy the garden. The check out inventory says "a number of leaves on lawn" & "borders slightly untidy". That's fine it was Autumn and there were leaves about so I'm happy for it to be tidied. But now I have found out that the new tenants haven't had any contactor visit to do this work. My question is How long from my check date does this work need to be done? Just a bit worried I'm going to be charged for the next tenants mess!

I recieve a check for 9850.00 from nevada rae gold, deposit it in my bank of america account, check came back closed account, bank of america then closed my account stating that I was a high risk, now I can not get a checking account for my direct deposit from my job, due to bank of america closing my account for being a high risk. How else could you know if the check was good, they put a hold on it until it could be determined if it was or bad. This is totally wrong, should I file a complaint with the banking commission? Or does someone else have a suggestion, can I sue for discrimination? Need help, company may decide that I have to much drama in my life.

My mother recently got a letter about reverse mortgage of her house. (She's not far off of retirement age). In the letter, it says that basically, they would take over her mortgage, and possibly pay a stipend, but that when she passes, the house goes to her heirs (if she has any) and they would be responsible for paying back the amount paid (with interest, I'm sure). However, I have also heard from another source that the company takes the home when she passes.
Does anybody know if this is true?

Our tenants want to move out even though the tenancy is in its 7th month and the agreement is for a year. There was a 6 month break clause but they would've had to give notice a month ago for this to have an effect, as they didn't we thought we had them for six months more, but now a month later they want to move - can they or are they not liable for the rent for the remainder of the term or getting tenants in to replace themselves? (1988 housing act agreement )

I got my real estate licence a couple of years ago and my loan agent's licence been only for a couple of months so I'm farely new to this business. so far my real estate deals have been separate from my loan deals because I heard that it would be a problem if you're acting as both in one deal. The problem is when I do the real estate and I give the loans to someone else, the deals doesn't close as smoothly because the loan agent I work with charge a higher fees than I would normally do, and it has upset my clients. My mortgage broker has offered me to use his name on the loans and told me I can do same thing as what the loan officer normally do, but for some reason I'm not very comfortable doing it.... any suggestions from experienced real estate / loan professionals would be appreciated...

Anyone can advise me how to search for tenants and landlords as most of them seem to already have their own property agent...
Appreciate advice on anything about property matters too.

I'm thinking about purchasing a house or duplex and renting it out. They need some cosmetic work which I am able to do just fine. I want to know how much risk I'm running being a landlord? What are some areas that I should look out for, what to look for in a tenant and contract, etc. If anyone can tell me what exactly I'd be in for, I'd appreciate it. Thankyou.
