I noticed that the bond units go for alot cheaper then the rent, but I don't know what they are. These are related to 55+ rentals I guess, but don't know what they are.

Am wondering if this is a good idea, to borrow money from the bank even if you CAN afford to buy a house on your own. I dont understand why people would do this, is it because of the risk factor??

Not only with purchasing a house for themselves but with flipping houses too. I would think that if one actually had the funds to buy the house then do it instead of borrowing from the bank???? Is there an advantage? Why would they want to be bothered with having a mortgage payment????

I filed a complaint against my tenant for non-payment of rent. We are going to court next week, and I'm fairly certain that the judge will rule in my favor. If he does, will the tenant be required to pay the amount they owe me? Or will I just be in the same situation I am now?

I have a house with the title being in both me and my wifes name. We are now divorced and I want to sell the house. But I can't locate my wife to have her sign the quick claim deed to remove her from the title. Is there any alternatives? If so, what are they!

I am selling a house, a sale contract signed 12/7/06, buyer did inspection on property and requested a lot of repairs on the house, we refused his request, time was due for him to withdraw his request, we sent a cancellation notice, we get a signed withdrawal, but all three signtures from the prospective buyer don't match! all three are very different, specially the signed contract signature, I questioned my agent and in return he said that the buyer's agent is confident that all three signatures are his client's. We have an appt. 12/29/06 with the buyer to verify all three different signatures, any suggestions???

Thank you

I can not find anything out here that pays enough to support myself with benefits. I wil be out of unemployment soon, & than what ? I decided that perhaps I would go back to calif where I lived over 10 years ago & find work. I tried to get my apartment complex to let me out of my lease, but they wont. I have lived here for 9 years, been physically attacked by another tenant, & I let it go, I moved all the people who needed help when the apts had a fire, with my gas, my truck,my time off work. Recently a maintenance at the request of another TENANT, let her in without my permission, I discovered medicine missing I cant afford becasue I have no insurance. last year i transfered from upstairs to down, I was suposto move Feb 1,06, but the managers kept putting it off cause the apt wasnt ready, so my lease says move in date Feb28, they will not give me a break. I put in a 30 day notice to be out Jan 31, but need the rent money to move, I tried to do right thing. What would u do ?

If there is no record of a sale, would the heirs be able to claim land from 1939? My grandfather died without a will and he owned 800 acres of beachfront property on the Oregon Coast.

And why nearly two years later do I get this bill now? I have no reciepts. I don't have a bank, nor checking account, or credit card. I do have electric NOW. Help?

I currently own my home (no mortgage) and have found a bank owned foreclosure in great shape that I want to buy to live in. To purchase the property I would have to sell mine. I want to put a large down payment with the sale of my house and have reasonable payments in the new one ( there is not a great difference in the value of the two). How does this work? Anyone know anything about bridge loans? Should I take out an equity loan to pay for the new one until I sell? Help!?!?

I lived somewhere, paid my electric thru currency exchanges. Supposivly, the electric company claims I almost never paid any of that bill, but it was paid in full. I have a limited budgit, rent is due soon, the phone, and only can afford maybe $35 a month for the electric. I can't pay $78 to keep electricity on where I live now, because they claim where I paid all my bills living at before, they have no record of it. Did the currency exchange take my money and not pay my electric? I know I paid all of it and allways a little extra. From, in...the...dark. By the way, I have electric heat where I live now. Isn't it a law that they can not disconnect my electric (Because it is my heat!) in the winter?

My husband and I have lived in an apartment (2 family house) in NYC for the last 12 months.
Our landlord lives in another state and is very nice and never bothers us.
The thing is, our lease expires at the end of the year and we have asked him for a new lease. He said of course we can have one if we want but in his 15 years as a landlord he has never issued a new one because he is quite content to let things carry on as before same rent etc. (The couple who live downsatirs have been there for 7 years. )
My question is - should I insist on signing a new 12 month lease? Would it be more to our benefit or his benefit if we didnt ?

I moved 3 times in 3 or 4 years. I had electricity in one place, fine. Then I moved into Chicago, had it in my name, paid it every month and often extra. Then, I moved elsewhere and had it taken out of my name. Then I moved where I live now. Fine, electric is on. 3 weeks later they send me a past bill for over $400 for the place before last. I called them 6 times. 5 people have diffrent past due amounts, and for different dates they say I still owed. Today, I talked with a so-called "supervisor" person, who was very arrogant, and be-littling to me, and my situation. At any rate, he said this bill is not for August of 2005 to November of 2006. It basically is for November of 2004 thru August 2005, because as he said, they have no record of me paying the electric bill that entire time. Well, the bill was paid prior to November 2004, thru the last bill that I had it taken out of my name. I can't prove I paid it, and I did. I have no reciepts. What do I do? I paid allready!

night that he died in a car accicent the day before christmas. What is going to happen to the house and us now. They hadnt paid their house off yet, and if you think about it we are basically paying the house off for them. We had signed a one year contract and we still have 6 months left in the contract. A friend told me that the courts will have to decide who the house will be left to. And I dont know if the husband had a will because he was only 20. Do you have any ideas about we should expect to happen, should we be looking for a new house to rent?
