I'm moving to an apartment in Washington state but the manager told me it is a small city and they don't have anything in town. So how am I supposed to get a ride to furniture stores (bestbuy, staples, etc) if I don't even have a car and can't afford to pay for the taxi ride cuz they charge like $240 round trip.

Would the manager give me a ride to the furniture store or would he look me with dirty eyes?

I bought my house a year ago and got into an option arm loan because we weren't sure we could afford the payments. Now, my fiance and I have gotten salary increases and we are paying interest plus principal. We paid $600,000 for our home and put 20% down with our parents' help. I am afraid that interest rates are going up again and that the payments are getting higher and higher. I am not sure I should refi because I have to pay a pre-payment penalty of 3 months of interest which comes out to 13,000. Should I bite the bullet and refi now at a 6% interest rate or should I wait another two years and then refi. We orginally planned to stay at this home for only 3-5 years but now I am thinking we are going to stay for 7-10 because of how the market is.

I'm being paid partially under the table to keep my reduced rent low enough. My boss can't do this anymore but said she is willing to lie to them about my pay increase.

I'd like to start something out of my home and thought this would be a new challenge. How hard is it to get in? What initial procedures do I need to take in order to become a mortgage broker?

Here's the scenario: I bought a home 5 months ago. On all paperwork from the real estate agent I was told that I was in an unincorporated area and I did not have to pay city property taxes. I find today a city trash bin in my front yard saying "Welcome, you've been annexed as of Jan. 1st 2007". After researching online, I found out that the area I am in was annexed in 1997 (I WAS IN HIGH SCHOOL BACK THEN!). No where on any paper work for the house does it say I was already annexed. In fact my subdivision has a completely different name than the area being annexed yet I am somehow lumped together with them. Being that the real estate company said NOTHING about being in an already annexed area and then expressively state in writing "NO CITY TAXES!" do I have any legal action to take against the company or am I SOL because I didn't attend annexation meetings at city hall when I was a junior in high school in 1997?

I've been thinking for awhile of moving myself and my small remodeling business to either fla, or louisianna, but wasn't sure where the most work would be. I've lived in fla before for 6 yrs. I've never been to louisianna. I also want to work and grow my business into a big construction company, not party and end up like Jimmy Buffet (not saying that is bad now) I'm not a fly by night-storm victim chaser. I take pride in my work, I am good at it, I have a high standard for quality, and I love what I do. I know I offer the lowest price for professional services wherever I go. The winter in the north kills me, I have no support outside what I can create w/ my business. It's feast to famine. I hve 2 yrs of referances in this area, I have a small clientel here. But people whine and cry about prices and shady contractors. I want to do work for people who are serious about fixing their homes, and people who know if their home cost alot to build, it costs alot to repair.

My father and I purchased a home recently. We decided to go 50-50 on everything... down payment, monthly payment etc. However, we thought it might be smarter to take the loan out under his name to get a better rate. I have great credit and didnt apply for the loan with him because I was in between jobs. Both of our names are on the title but only his is on the loan. Is it possible for me to be added to the loan so I can share the tax benefits if any?

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) administers the subsidized housing programs in most states. Someone I know was rejected due to "unsatisfactory criminal history check" among other reasons. Does the HUD subsidized housing program ban felons currently on supervision (HUD)? If yes, PLEASE, if you have it, include a cite(s) to the statute, reg, admin rule or case law. Thanks in advance! (I was an attorney for 18 years, and certainly understand citations and legal terms - I just never studied or practiced in this area)

I bought a house in Vancouver, BC Canada and discovered from neighbors later it was a grow op. It even successfully pass inspection. At the moment, I have renovated it and am contemplating to sell it. DOI have to inform future buyers of such a past even though I was not formally informed by the previous seller? How bad would this effect the price.

Are there any particular rules of thumb in tranferring ownership of an asset like a house to a beneficiary prior to your death so you can avoid taxes and probate? What can and can't you do? Tks.

I lived in a council flat between May 2003 and Sept 2004. Was at university at the time and had many financial problems which culminated in me being evicted as I could not pay my rent.

I am now in a situation where I need to look for another flat, and I was hoping I could get a council flat. I'm no longer at University, and working. Would the fact I was evicted before mean I'd have absolutely no chance of getting a flat?

My council is Dundee City Council in Scotland.

I have a condo that is near completion and will begin to look for a mortgage in the next 4-5 months. I have a car note with about $10,000 left on it. Would a lender like to see that paid off and leave me with no monthly debt or have that $10,000 in the bank. I would not look to add to the down payment I have already made and have enough savings to cover the closing costs.
The only debt I have is my car note. Credit cards are paid off each month. 100K/year vs 380k mortgage. 650 FICO
THANKS
