When you are looking at properties and they say Zoned b1 does that mean that they are also zoned for commercial?

b1 is a commercial zoning code. As to what is allowed, I suggest you call your local planing and zoning commission

You have to look at a copy of your county or city's ordinance to figure out the zoning. Your local planning dept. will have the info and will tell you all legal uses in that zone and bulk requirements such as setbacks, % of lot coverage, minimum lot size, maximum building height etc. Every municipality is different and B1 could be business or residential.

b1= business One. Usually single business to single bldg. Check with your town for their definition.
