In Houston , TX, I paid a deposit of $300 to hold an apartment that I saw online, but it when I went to see the apt it was dirty and it smelled really bad. I decided not to rent it, but the landlord wont give me the money back. I never signed a lease or agreement.I stopped payment on the check. Will I have a problem with this? Can he legally take my money?

I am pre-approved wiht the bank and have the money to make the deal, however; I am ignorant about what questions that I need to ask the realtor? What questions should I have answered before I decide to buy this land? The location is perfect for me and chances are that nobody can build around me because of some school property. Thanks in advance.

Hi, we evicted our tenant after her one year lease was up (and she refused to sign the new lease), giving her 60 days notice. We said that she was to move out (i.e. evicted) because we wanted to take the property back for personal use. She moved out the end of August and now I have someone who would like to rent our place. Is there a time limit for when you use the property for personal use before you can rent again? I don't want to get sued for wrongful eviction or whatnot. thanks! p.s. I'm in ontario canada

I have been out of the military for ten years now, but was told that I would qualify for a VA loan. How do you apply? How you find out if you are qualified? Is it really true there is no down payment required? What are the interest rates? Any information anyone can provide me would be great.

I don't know how can you exactly profit off real estate? I have seen a property that is 155K on MLS website. There is a calculator on the bottom of the page: It says if interest rate is 5%, and down is 20% then monthly morgage (for 30 years) would be $665. I can't understand how I can profit here? Does it mean that as long as I rent the place for higher 665, I am making profit? what about the interest? I am soooo confused. Can somebody please walk me through it from the very basic? (I mean explain what is the basic of making profit in real estate? how about interest rate? what is the actual interest rates available (I mean is 5% realistic? what would be the typical interest rates out there? I am the firs time buyer and still a student so I probably don't have a strong credit? should I wait?) which one is better: to pay more down (20%) or less down (10%) ) HOW Can I figure out these alphabets and baiscs to figure out where can profit come from?)
Pleasee.
I am very confused.
Thanks

I had a problem with my toilet, so I called the manager/caretaker. He then told his daughter in law that there was "Crap" all over the bathroom floor, and that I didn't clean it up. COMPLETE LIE!! Then I had an inspection, and this same guy told his daughter in law and others that there was human and animal "Crap" all over the bathroom and all through my bedroom. LIE as well. He then called DHS on me and they are coming back tomorrow to "Inspect" my place as I wasn't home. My Place is clean, and my 4 year old isn't in any danger. Does he have the right to lie like that about me to other tenants? Also, does he have the right to talk about other tennents with his daughter in law and others in public at the complex? any help would be greatly appreciated as I meet with the landlord tomorrow.

I'm talking mainly about the price of homes. I'm not looking for any rental property or stuff like that. I would prefer a warm beach more south than north. Thanks.
