A friend of ours decided his house was to much for him since he was divorcing his wife so my husband and I moved into the house and told him as soon as the divorce was final we would buy it. We gave him the money each month for the mortgage payment and when his divorce went final we started the paperwork at the bank to get the loan for the house which we are about two weeks away from closing on due to a problem with the title search that had to get straightened out. We just found out today that he hasn't been paying the house payment at all and if his mortgage company doesn't have the last 3 payments by monday they are foreclosing on him. We live here not him and we are so close to closing anyone know how this will affect us getting the house. We really don't want to move or loose the property it is perfect for us and our family but since he just dropped this on us we are scared we are going to be thrown out on the street.

who is responsible in paying property taxes on a house that you flip and maybe sell within 4 or 5 months?Husband and I are thinking about trying it but are trying to find out as much info and advice as possible.I know we can get a rehab loan at the bank for 8 1/2 % on interest only for a 6 month note.Does that sound fair?Any additional knowledge anyone has would be great we are trying to read up on it as much as possible.

How old were you when you bought your first house? How many beds/baths? How many square feet? How much did it cost? What year was it (when you bought the house)? What year was the house built? What city/state was it in? Was your home single or double income? What was your total income per year? what size was the land/yard?

Heard a guy on Glenn Beck say he thinks housing prices will be on the decline for the next 5 years. I'm currently looking into buying a house in San Diego by summer time but I'm now concerned about negative equity and not being able to sell it back.

Since this will be my first home I'm going for a starter and I really want to be able to sell it within 5 years for a better home. Advice anyone? Thanks!

Im a young aspiring first time home buyer- I have good credit and a couple of roommates in place but do not necessarily have a stable employment history, but could come up with the funds to make the necessary monthly payments. Is it still possible for a first time home buyer to purchase a home without having the recommended 2 yrs of job history?

I am in the beginning stages of buying a house. I am a first time home buyer and have enough for 20% on an average priced house. I just checked my score and they gave me 3 scores; the lowest is 620 and the highest is 640. So before I go into the mortgage bank office, I wanted to see what my rate would be like...

Thank you so much

We completed a contract to purchase a home. Our agent did not mark the financial contingency box as we had our financing all approved. We were told the payment amount before we made the offer. Once the offer was accepted, the payment amount came back substanially higher. The broker had made an error. Now we can't afford the house and the seller is threatening to sue us. State of home purchase is WI.

I plan to use the house 3 or 4 times a year, like a vacation house. How do I deal with routine maintenance and yard duties when I'm not there? I may rent the house also. Is there a good reference site that will give me information on upkeep on investment property or second houses you don't live in the majority of the time?

Our lease is ending December 31 of this year and we are thinking about buying a house to use for the business instead of renewing this lease. I have checked the lease over and over and can't find anything that says we have to give some kind of notice like 30 or 60 days. If it's not in the lease, are we required to give some type of notice. We aren't trying to be shady, we just don't know what's going on with the house.

We have been waiting for a rent back check from our Title company since the 13th of September. Since this Monday, we have called every day and they are avoiding us like the plague. No call backs and no checks in the mail. The RE Agent is looking into it but he is slow as molasses. Does anyone know what recourse we have to getting this check? By the way this is in California.
