Date payment taken
Method of payment: Cash, Check ( & check #),Credit Card
Address of rented location

Section for notes - security deposit this amount, electric, etc. - break it all out seperately

The receipt should be filled out by the landlord, or his designee. It should contain, the name of the person paying the rent, the amount paid, the date of payment, the time(usually a month) that it was for, and be signed by the person receiving the rent. Without this, the payee has no proof of payment.

a receipt can just be a piece of paper with the date, the amount received, from who (name) , received by (your name) , the period the money is good for example Feb 3, 06 to Mar 3, 06 . What the payment was for (rent). And remaining balance or paid in full.

You put the tennants name on it. You put in the date and amount being paid. You put the address of the place they are renting. If they paid by check you may want to add the check number and you sign it. That shows that you collected the money for their rent. You also add the dat they paid from and to (when they owe again).
