For the past year and a half I have lived in my sisters house along with my brother, the situation there is getting worse no one wants to take responsiblity for them selves, as far as cleaning and so forth, with the presence of a dog, makes the problem worse. I want to get out of there. On the other hand I have a four bedroom apt that is in my name, with my other sister in the process of moving out, now this apt is in a crime infested neighborhood and is kind a far from my job, but the house is nice and clean and rent is dirt cheap. I want to move from where I am I can't stand it but I don't want to move in the area where my other place is, should I sweat it out until I save some more and find a place I want to go or should I move to the cheap area I already have and save up to move there. I want to move so bad I am willing to chain my self in my place because of the crime but I don't want to get stuck because of the rent. I reeally need some help and your opinion. Thank You

i moved into an apartment with my husband and a few friends a little more than three months ago and some of our things in our house are still not fixed from the "fixing up" process. we still do not have cabinets in our kitchen, however he recieved the cabinets about 2 months ago and just has not installed him. he would tell my husband and i that he would come on a certain date, only to go downstairs and find him not doing anything. also, the back yard is completely overgrown with grass up to my knees. he said that he has called a gardner, but a month later, he says the gardner hasn't called him back(fishy). the county even came to clean the side lot like we requested before he has. it's not even as though he is not here, he works on the bottom floor and is here 5 days a week. he even had the front of the business pruned and gardened. what can i do in order to get him to change things but keep things friendly? my husband and i remind him of these things, but to no avail. Help!

We would like to sell our home. Our home was very recently appraised at $228,000 by a home appraiser. Do you normally list the price of your home higher than the appraised value? What price would be fair?

Back when we resigned a July 06-July 07 lease my roommate who is the only person on the lease, told me that she may break it with no monetary effect on me, in Feb 07. Fine. Then through other conversations I found out she moved it up...to November 06. I started my search last week and found a place to move to that started October 1st. I gave her more than a month's notice but she is stressed out about last months. I've offered to find someone to sublet my room, and as she told me, give them the option to reapply for the least with 'first dibs'. She won't answer me now if this is possible. Do I have any rights? May I call the landlord? Would anyone sublet an unfurnished room for a month with no happy ending in sight?

Inherited a home, and have to split it with sibiling. Is probate court necessary? There was not a will. There is no one arguing about the house. All matters are settled, and we will buy out the other half of the house.

I went to tour a house about 6 months ago. The owner clearly was way over priced on the house and he was showing it on his own for his parents who were placed in a nursing home. I loved the house and the area it was in, He was just way over priced.
The house had no appliances, nothing to upgrade it except for some windows which were placed about 10 years ago. For crimeny sakes he put indoor outdoor carpet in the kitchen and the light fixtures looked like something out of the 50's which was the time the house was built. He had painted everything white even the kitchen cabinets.
I was still looking for a house when I noticed this same house for sale by a realtor on the internet for &150 thousand. The guy must have given up and listed it with a realtor.
So now what do I do? Do I have someone look over the house to see if it is worth that much money. How soon in the game do you make an offer? I would hate to committ to an offer and find out there are some real problems

I am interested in purchasing one property and trying my hand at having a rental property for extra income. I have looked into that and found that my best bet with my current situation would likely be to purchase a home that's been foreclosed on. I have found a site that lists upcoming f/c auctions, but I don't know anything about how to determine if its' a good deal or not - for instance, this site lists the loan balance, the final judgement and the judge's assessment. Is there a course you can take on buying foreclosed properties, or a website to teach me how to figure the worth of the home versus the amount owed on it - and most especially how to get a ballpark of what's owed based on the figures I just mentioned. I know I'd need a title search on any home for protection, but I don't even want to initiate one without knowing how much is expected without looking for other liens. Hope this makes sense.
