I plan on not "openly" applying for any more credit in 2008. The rush is to burn one last inquiry for the rest of this year while trying not to cause adverse actions on new credit. It seems like BML will only pull one hard at the time of initial application/purchase. Subsequent purchases will be softs. See this as offering a couple of benefits. Future BML purchases/credit lines won't be reported to my personal reports (?) and thus won't majorly affect utilization and credit scores. It sounds like a convenience feature not found in a typical credit card. Please kindly list all pros and cons with establishing a BML account. Currently, I have 4 accounts that are less than 6 months old, and 5 in EQ. Other two bureaus are under security freeze. Should I apply?

I am immigrating to europe next year and would very much like to leave the US debt free. I have $47 thou in an IRA and $10 thou in debt. I will not be allowed to work for a year in my new residence country. IF I cash in the IRA how much is taken out up front and how much will I have to pay later?

Yes, I know this is a bad idea, but I feel strongly about being debt free and will have no income for a year.

Okay this is going to sound a little pathetic, but here goes: I am 23, my fiance is 25, we have 2 kids, 6 and 3. We had to move into his parents house 6 months ago due to financial issues. We still have like $20,000 in debt. We only make like $22,000 a year. I can't take living here much longer, How can I get rid of some of this debt asap? I feel liek I am only paying interest and the balances aren't goign down. I wrote to the card companies and they say they can't reduce my interest rates. My credit report looks kinda crappy because I have some utility bills and medical bills on collection. But how do I get ahead?

I recently opened a checking and savings at US Bank. I enrolled in their online bill pay to pay all my bills automatically. All the bills that get paid electronically are paid on time however all the bills that get paid via the post office are always 3-4 days late. I know I am not entering the dates wrong as the electronic or ach transfers always post the day they are due. However the bills that cannot be paid via ach, are late.

I switched to US Bank from Bank of America. Bank of America never once was late on any of my bills. I went to the local branch in which they really didnt help. They suggested I just change the due dates 3-4 days earlier. I guess I could just mail the bills myself but I figure that this is a free service they provide and the postage I would save would add up over time.

Have you had the same problems with US Bank and what did you do to fix it? US Bank has been good about paying any late charges that have incurred as a result though.

Well i just got a job, i filled out all of the paperwork, and took a urine test. And my employer didn't really tell me what the salary was. I still have to go through the training process, ( the job is cashier at The Food Emporium) and that can take a week.

Ummm, i want to get an affordable apartment, Section 8 to be exact. every time i get paid i'm not gonna spend anything except for the money i take out to get back and forth to work, and being that people are greedy in my house ( living with parents and others) i dont want to keep money on me.

I need to know what i should do with my money so that when i do get accepted for the apartment, i have money to pay them and go shopping for furniture and so on.

Should i open a bank account to hold my money there?
I thought about that but i'm scared that money will be takin out of it somehow and i don't think i can deal with that, but i just need a place to put my money so that it is safe until i come and get it, whenever i need it.

What does that phrase mean? A friend who was wiped out by Katrina got and insurance check to him and SBA, he signed it and sent it to SBA to apply to his new loan. SBA stamped it "Endorsed with no recourse" on it. He is confused as to what that means.

I'm 18, and i need money in less than 2 weeks, to pay the rent, but under certain circumstances i was required to take a month off work. I going back to work in 2 days but i won't get my paycheck in time to pay the rent. I'm not sure what to do because i have no one to turn to for money. I've decided to try and get a loan at the bank. But i don't know how to go about it, i only need about 500-600 dollars max. But the website i looked at said the minimum i can take out for a loan, is $5000. is there a way i can borrow less. Do i need a line of credit? how do i get one? any advice or suggestion would be highly appreciated. thanks!

Okay so I've finally saved enough money to buy a new Katana II from Sprint since my old phone broke. The phone is worth is $249.99, and I have $254 dollars saved up right now. How much would they charge me in total if I went to the Sprint store and charged me for it right now? What kind of other fees would I have to pay? I know I can avoid most fees if I just buy it online, but how long would it take to come in the mail if I did?
Thank you, Im planning on buy this phone either tomorrow or Monday by the way.

P.S: I live in New Jersey btw sales tax here is 6 or 7% I think.

How can I tell someone politely to cash a check you wrote them three weeks ago? It' s messing me up with my finances and I can't plan anything accurately. With the Christmas shopping, it's cutting it close if they cash the check now. I don't want to overdraft.
