I had a membership with Stamps.com, when I cancelled my account; I was refunded my remaining balance by check in mail. When the check was in process, I called them to confirm and now, just yesterday, I have received another check of the same amount, it is clearly their mistake.

So, what should I do with that second check?

Ok another real quick question.

I am trying to straighten out my life here it is fairly horrible. I and my husband owe a lot of debt about to get a house in or name.
the house is worth more then are debt isn't there something we can do so we don't have to file bankruptcy?

We don't have the deed and this stops us. We can't afford the fees but the house is worth more then or debt alone and would free us from debt isn't there anything els we can do to take care besides banktruptcy?Sorry I am just trying to figure out my life and , trying to see if others might no a easier way.

I'm totally new to all of this, but my husband and I are going to have the money to start contributing to a Roth IRA starting in January. It's my understanding that we can still contribute to 2007's Roth IRA until April 15th. Should we do that, or just go ahead and put it in for 2008??

(We're using his deployment pay, so we'll have enough to max out both years... I'm just wondering if it's worth it. I'm just starting to learn about all of this.)

Also, after we max out the Roth IRA, where would you recommend putting the rest of our savings? CDs?? We want to be able to take some out for a family car when the time comes, a downpayment on a house, or if an emergency comes up.

Thanks in advance!!

I have a LOT of stuff I need to sell. Household items, furniture, some fine furniture and art, clothes, electronics, and junk. Really an entire household of stuff. Should I just have an "estate" or tag sale, or have an eBay company take it all for 30%?

What are your savings strategies? Tips?

Do you have different sub-accounts that you label for example... travel, gifts, emergency, etc... ?

I heard it was good practice to keep different accounts but isn't it hard to manage, keep track of it and know how much to allocate in each ones?

I am very interested in going to New Jersey over the summer to attend a national political Symposia however the program costs over 4,500 dollars. My Parents cannot afford that at all, we don't have a lot of money. I really would like to go because since I arrived in this country I have never had an opportunity to travel outside of NY state. plus I'm looking foreword to the personal development offered by such an experience.

My question is: How can I raise enough money for this. What would be the best way to do it. Are any businesses willing to support a cause like this?

PS. I work but I don't make enough to cover personal needs and have a extra 4,000 left over. I can save up some but not enough.

Is there a way to write for a grant, just to get yourself off on your feet? Not for a company, not for some volunteer project, but just for yourself?

I need some cash money, and a loan just doesn't seem the best way for me to go, right now. I've got a lot of bills, car note, car insurance, and trying to get a low-income apartment. I was just wondering what programs might be available.
