I had a membership with Stamps.com, when I cancelled my account; I was refunded my remaining balance by check in mail. When the check was in process, I called them to confirm and now, just yesterday, I have received another check of the same amount, it is clearly their mistake.

So, what should I do with that second check?

Don't listen to these people. Cash it, it is their fault. They won't come looking for it. I had this happen with best buy a long time ago. I got refunded and the also sent a check for the same amount. I cashed the $300 check. Never heard from them again.
It's yours.

Of course you want to keep it. You are human.
If you do keep it and cash it. They will not find out until they go through their books and then send you a bill for it. Since you did cash it, they will know and can sue you for it.

I would call them back and tell them you received a duplicate check. Give them the check number so they can cancel it.

Write void on it and return it.
