I am very interested in going to New Jersey over the summer to attend a national political Symposia however the program costs over 4,500 dollars. My Parents cannot afford that at all, we don't have a lot of money. I really would like to go because since I arrived in this country I have never had an opportunity to travel outside of NY state. plus I'm looking foreword to the personal development offered by such an experience.

My question is: How can I raise enough money for this. What would be the best way to do it. Are any businesses willing to support a cause like this?

PS. I work but I don't make enough to cover personal needs and have a extra 4,000 left over. I can save up some but not enough.

It seems unlikely that you can get corporate sponsorship - most companies can be generous to fundraising requests, but from established charities or local community efforts. Perhaps you can ask the people who are running the symposium if they have student scholarships or reduced rates for individuals in your situation who can not afford to attend.
